Book Review Monday – The Chase & Giveaway

Book Review Monday – The Chase & Giveaway

Tweet Book Review Monday: The Chase  & Giveaway Welcome to Book Review Monday! The Chase – By Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky It’s time again for Book Review Monday and another Giveaway!! What is book review Monday all about? I love to read! If you know me, you already know this to be true. If you don’t, well, one of my favorite things to do is read. I love it, but I don’t always feel like I have the time to do so. Being a pastor, an author, and a speaker, one of the questions I always get from people is, “What are you reading?” I suppose it’s because they want to know what I would recommend, what inspires me, or what I’m feeding on. So, upon receiving an opportunity to giveaway some books, it got me thinking about my love for reading, but I never feel like I can make the time. Then it hit me – I came up with a brilliant idea – Book Review Monday!! Or at least I think it is brilliant. Plus it gives me a reason to read more! Now, let’s get started with – – – Book review Monday! I was given a copy of The Chase by Icon Media and another opportunity to host a giveaway!! Honestly, I am unsure as to how The Chase was sent, since it wasn’t on my list of books I would like to read for review, but it doesn’t really matter; I am glad it got sent to me. The Chase is one of the books on Icon Media’s summer hot release list. What is...
With Nothing to Write…

With Nothing to Write…

Tweet I hope you don’t mind me being real, authentic, transparent. I am staring at the cursor on my computer screen on the evening before my self-imposed deadline for a new blog post to go live and I have nothing. Yep, literally nothing. I rack my brain for events from this past week that I could write on, that would draw you in, but I come up empty. I have nothing. Then, I start to compare myself to all the other bloggers out there and wonder, how do they post 2, 3, or even 5 new posts a week?!! Where do they get their material and inspiration from? Then, I get discouraged. I promised myself over a month ago when I began my 5 part series on dreams that I would begin to write up a plan for future posts. I had grand ideas of getting ahead on my blog post and ideas. I was going to create and follow an editorial calendar, which I read about on Nikki’s blog – The View from in Here. I discovered her post at one of the parties I link-up to. You see, this whole blogging thing is new to me. I have known for some time that I was supposed to start blogging, but it scared me. Literally. I was scared about all sorts of things. Here’s just a sampling: Not understanding what to do and how to do it. Saying something that was controversial. Scared about my writing – was it good enough? What if I used too many “that’s” or repeated myself, or wasn’t clear in what I was...

Dreams, Part 5 – Figuring It Out

Dreams, Part 5 – Figuring It Out

Tweet The Bible is full of dreams that God gave to individuals, both in the Old Testament and New Testament for a variety of reasons. I firmly believe if He did it then, He will do it now, and He will continue to do so in the future. Why do I believe this to be true? Because the Bible tells me so: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Yep, (insert singing here) The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the book for me. I stand alone on the Word of God, the B-I-B-L-E …. I have said this numerous times over the last month during this series, but that we MUST remember: Whenever God speaks to us, it will always line up with the Word of God. Welcome! Well, if you have been joining me for this dream series, you know that today I will be wrapping things up. However, before I can do that, we have to pick up where I left off last week with symbolism and determining what things mean to you. Last week in Dreams Part 4 – Symbolism, I shared that while books on dream symbols can help you, you cannot use them as a key to unlock your dreams, visions, or pictures.[1] In order to figure out what things mean to you, there is a list of questions you should ask yourself. For this week’s example, we will talk about what people in our dreams can mean. When we dream about people, it’s not the actual person we are dreaming about; it’s what they represent to us. This section is an...
Dreams, Part 4 – Symbolism

Dreams, Part 4 – Symbolism

Tweet Did you know that many inventors, Nobel Peace Prize Winners, and authors of some historic works of fiction and songs all received their inspiration from dreams? Yes, that’s right – Dreams. Many influential people in history received dreams; and therefore, some say because of those dreams, they changed history. Go ahead, Google “Top dreams that changed history.” However, let me be clear. I am not saying that all these dreams were God given dreams, but some perhaps were. If you missed Dreams, Part 2 – Who’s the Source. Go check it out to see how to discern which are God given. Here is a sampling of some of the things you will find when you do a Google search: Monster.com – The online employment site came about, when Jeff Taylor had a dream that showed him how it would all work – Paul McCartney – It is documented that the song “Yesterday” came to him in a dream. Jack Nicklaus – Professional Golfer was in a bad slump and had a dream that completely changed his game, others call it his “gold swing.” Mary Shelley – The writer of “Frankenstein” had a dream that eventually developed into the classic novel. Stephen King- The author is said to have received his material for many of his book projects from dreams. Welcome to Dreams, Part 4 – Symbolism, of what was to be a 4 part series. However, I find I have too much information left to cover so I am extending it one more week. So, it has now become a 5 Part Series. Part 5 – Figuring it...
