Inheritance Words

Inheritance Words

Can you believe we are over half-way through the month of January?   Wow, time sure has been speeding by, or so it seems. My husband and I were putting away the Christmas decorations just the other day. <GASP> – I know, you are in complete shock that it wasn’t done sooner, it should have been done sooner. It would have been done sooner, however my sweet darling husband was sick and not able to help, and well, getting all the outdoor porch decorations down by myself just wasn’t going to happen. Trust me, I thought about it, but the thought of wrestling several strands of ribbon lit garland all by myself – nah, it could wait.   As we were finally putting away the decorations, I was grumbling about the many hours spent taking them down, just so we could put them away, and even though it was pretty, it was a lot of work.   He said, “Hey, it’s almost Christmas time again, maybe we should just go put it all back.” Ugh – he was so not funny.     Last week, as I shared my #OneWord2016 – ADVANCE I was not really sure what to expect, I’m still not. Although, I am only one week into discovering this new word and all it entails, I have to say, God has been doing amazing things in my life in regards to my new word. I am excited to see what the rest of the year holds. In fact some of the advancement I have seen in my ministry this week has been what I would have...
One Word 2016 – ADVANCE

One Word 2016 – ADVANCE

Tweet I know many people have already shared their #OneWord2016 for the year, and it may look like I am behind. Well, it’s true, and not true. Yes, it’s true that I am behind everyone by a week or two in posting what my one word for 2016 is. But, it’s also not true that I am behind. I mean, how can one be behind on something if they didn’t know it existed? Am, I am the only person who had never heard of choosing just one word to be my inspiration for an entire year? I first heard about this #ONEWORD365 movement when I was linking up to my new friend Holly Barrett’s weekly blog link-up party. While I was there I saw several of my new blogging friends. Mary Geisen and Susan Shipe had also written a post on their #ONEWORD2016. (I met all these wonderful ladies at a blogging conference I attended last October, with my fabulous, awesome, multi-talented friend Patti Krank.  Patti, – by the way, helped get me started in blogging, and has since moved clear across the country from me 🙁 ). Another new conference friend, Candace Playforth, posted her focus word for 2016, just this week. If you aren’t following my friends’ blogs already, please click on their names and go check out their blogs and be inspired! While I was looking around at other posts on the link-up, I noticed a theme – One Word 2016. Everywhere I looked, everyone was choosing one word. What was all the fuss about? Every year, I too seek God and get a “word” for...
2016 A Year of Taking New Territory

2016 A Year of Taking New Territory

Tweet As the holiday season and year-end celebrations wind down every year, I began to seek God and ask what the New Year will hold for His Church Worldwide. Having a ministry which revolves around the prophetic and hearing the voice of God, I am continually asked: “What is God saying to you? What is in store for the New Year?” So, each year I ask, “Lord, what is your “word” to Your Church, Your Bride, for this next season?” 2015 was a Year of Breakthrough and Bounty, and He spoke that 2016 is a Year of Taking New Territory! Below is what I feel the Lord spoke to me in regards to 2016 for the Bride of Christ – His Worldwide Church. In the weeks to come I will expand on the 2016 Word with some teachings. However, before you get to the Word for the Year, I just have to share (quickly) what this 2016 Word has already done for me personally and my ministry. I know that many people have been sharing their 1 Word for the year. However, my thoughts, were: “How do you boil this Huge Territory Taking Word down to just ONE word? And did my ONE Word have anything to do with the Large Picture Word for the church? Or did God have something else in mind?” For sure, you can bet there is a blog post come soon on this topic. 😉 But here it is… drum-roll please ……. ADVANCE! Which seems fitting since it goes with the Word for 2016 the Lord gave me and the word for our Church...
Reflection brings Contentment – 2015 – A Year in Review

Reflection brings Contentment – 2015 – A Year in Review

Tweet It’s the end of the year, and we stand at the edge of a brand new one. In less than 10 hours (as I am writing this) we will roll the calendar over to a brand new page – a new start – a new beginning. This time of year always seems to bring many ups and downs of the emotional roller-coaster with it. It is time to reflect and recap. It is the time to finish one year well and begin another with a clean new slate. It is a time to look back and remember, but also a time to look forward with hope and anticipation for what’s to come.  Which can just as easily send you (or me) on another round of the emotional roller-coaster. Recent events with my ministry, Dare 2 Hear, has had me re-evaluating. Not only do my husband and I co-pastor a church together, but I also have a separate non-profit ministry which I run, so my schedule is overly full most of the time. Certain events have had me taking stock of what I am doing, why I am doing it, and what needs to change. (I know, I used the dreaded word “change”). This last year has been a year of change; I even wrote a blog post: The Journey through Change, which came in as the #5 most viewed post of the year.  Change is not my favorite word or season to be in but it is inevitable.   It all depends on how we embrace it. I have chosen to make the most of it and grow in...
