Kick Fear to the Curb (Vlog) Lessons from the Lake #11

Kick Fear to the Curb (Vlog) Lessons from the Lake #11

Tweet Fear has many faces, and it has been a part of my life since I was young. As a young adult, fear would appear in my life as people pleasing.  I was fearful of what you might think or say about me.  I was afraid you wouldn’t like me, or that I say the wrong thing. Everything I did, said, or thought always had some element of the voice of fear speaking behind it…. “You can’t say that, what if your wrong?  What if they disagree?” What if…  what if.. what if !!! Ugh, trust me that is no way to live. It’s time to kick fear to the curb.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Romans 8:14-16 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. I am no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of GOD!Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This When the Song No Longer Slaves by Jonathon David and Melissa Helser was released, I had it on repeat for days.  I wrote a blog post about it here: No Longer Slaves   … Which lead into a 2 part Series on Becoming Sons & Daughters....
Speaking & Pronouncing Blessings

Speaking & Pronouncing Blessings

Tweet This week on the Video Blog, I shared about the power of pronouncing blessings over others. The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 14 that the spiritual gift of prophecy is a gift for ALL. It is designed to edify, exhort and build up the body of Christ, but also it is a safe way to open the door for God to show His kindness to those in need of Him. I shared a few weeks ago about the spiritual gift of prophecy. If you missed it you can find it here:  Prophecy What is it?  and I also had a Vlog on it a well, you can find it here: Prophecy What is it? Vlog By speaking or pronouncing a blessing you release the Holy Spirit to impact the lives of those around you for good.  Our blessing not only releases God’s intended blessing on others but it also releases blessing to us. Our words greatly affect us and those around us.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Let’s face it, we live in a world where the media focuses on “the bad.” When this happens some people become fearful and lose hope. However, God calls us to be a beacon of hope in a negative world.  When we speak, our words greatly affect us, and those around us. Good words spoken to us meet even the basic of needs. Peter M Lord in his book Bless and Be Blessed says, “Good words spoken by significant people in our lives are very important.  However, good words can come from other sources, and regardless of who speaks...

Pronouncing Blessings (Vlog) – Lessons from the Lake #10

Tweet Speaking and Pronouncing Blessings over others is a very Biblical thing to do.  In fact, there are many examples throughout Scripture of blessings.  Plan to join me this Thursday on the blog as I dive more into teaching on speaking and pronouncing blessings over others. Hebrews 3:13 tell us: But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Our words matter, so speak life and blessings.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This We are called to be light in a dark world, Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. We are commanded to bring positive encouragement to a negative and dying world. Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. There is power in our words alone. Proverbs 18:21Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Create an atmosphere for blessings others.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Speaking blessings opens a door for the Holy Spirit to target others for good.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Tweet   My Post “What’s in a Name?” was featured here: My Post: “Will You Sit with Me?” was featured here: My Post: “The Journey through Change” was featured here: I have been know to link to the following Inspirational Parties: Sunday’s Social...
Better Together

Better Together

Tweet I feel as if I haven’t sat down to write in sometime. The past three week have been a blur.  I have been busy traveling, attending conferences, and entertaining family guests and now I am on the road again.  On the road again, I just can’t wait to get on the road again … oh wait – I am not supposed to be singing, but writing … oops 🙂 It’s all good – I have a vacation planned starting at the end of next week with my husband to celebrate 27 years of marriage on August 19th!  Wow, it just seems like yesterday… and just look at this picture  – we were so young. However, all my previously scheduled posts and vlogs have been used and I have no more in the bank…. Sigh – time to get busy writing and creating again.   Three weeks ago today I was in North Carolina attending the She Speaks Conference with my friend Patti Krank.  This was my first time to ever attend and I was super excited about what God had in store for me while there.  You see, I was finally stepping out past fear and rejection and decided to try again to meet with some publishers/editors. It’s been over 5 years since I have done that.  The last time I did, well, let’s just say it left a very bad taste in my mouth.  I felt rejected, dejected, and misunderstood.  It was horrible. I was blessed with the opportunity to have some planned God ordered meetings (the publishers) and then some unplanned by me, but God ordained...

Hope Prevails (Vlog) Lessons from the Lake

Tweet This week on Lessons from the Lake, I am sharing about a powerful book by my friend Dr. Michelle Bengtson called Hope Prevails.  Not only is Dr. Michelle is a  Neuropsychologist, but she is someone who has walked the personal road of depression.  What a powerful Combination. I met Dr. Michelle at a conference about a year ago where we had the opportunity to sit and talk.  She shared with me about Hope Prevails and her own journey through depression.  When she asked me to be on her launch team, I was not only honored, but I was excited to be a part of helping her share her story. I again got to sit, share, listen, and pray with her a few weeks ago, after reading her book.  I can personally attest, not only is Dr. Michelle brilliant, but she is authentic and personal. Her book is powerful and is a much needed tool for everyone to combat the enemy who seeks to rob us of hope. Her book releases in ONE week  on August 16th, 2016, but you can per-order yours today (See links below).   Because of God  we can say #HopePrevails.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Here are just a few of my favorite quotes an take-aways from her book: “Anxiety is the absence of peace. … Anxiety always stems from a feeling of being out of control. … Many who experience the suffering caused by depression also experience anxiety. In fact, for some, anxiety is what they identify with before recognizing depression for what it is. ”   “Depression destroys our opinion of...
