Set a Fire Vlog #24 Lessons from the Lake

Set a Fire Vlog #24 Lessons from the Lake

Tweet Last night, I had the chorus to a song singing in my head as I slept.  It was on my lips each time I woke up, and it is buried deep in my heart still.  This song, Set A Fire, has really stuck a chord in my heart.  Listen and watch on the video blog to find out more of what God was doing to set a fire in my heart. Set A Fire in our hearts Lord, that we can’t contain.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This During the 21-day fast at our church, I have been intentional about giving God the first fruit of my day. I am not a morning person, but as I have set aside time to be with Him each morning seeking Him in the secret place, He has been setting my heart on fire for Him.  I want more of His presence in my life. Arise Warrior Princess

Arise Warrior Princess

Tweet As a youngster, I was adventurous, headstrong, and I had no fear, or so it seemed.  I would much rather be climbing trees, playing in the woods, and playing softball than playing with dolls, having tea parties, and wearing “girly” things. If I had the choice between Barbie dolls or hot wheel cars, I preferred the cars, you could drag them through the mud and send them soaring over rock piles.  They seem to rinse off and get cleaner than dolls.  Don’t get me wrong, my sister and I had Barbie’s … Barbie cars, motor-home, airplane and even a Barbie house. Yet, if my dad was working on the cars, I was there working with him.  If he was riding three-wheelers (I know I am totally dating myself), I was there too.  Growing up I was considered a tomboy, and my sister was the princess.  It didn’t really matter much to me. I just knew, I would rather climb the tree and pretend to save the world, than dress up a doll and play house. My little girl heroes were not Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella or Snow White.  I am a romantic at heart, and so of course I loved the tales and stories of these princesses.  I too dreamed and longed for my white knight, my prince, to one day come ad sweep me off my feet so I too could live in a castle.  Oh the dreams of a little girl. Truth be told, my heroes were Wonder Women and Xena Warrior Princess. I loved to watch these shows. (oh shoot, there I go again dating myself). ...

You Are A Warrior Princess Vlog #23 Lessons from the Lake

Tweet This week on the video blog, I taped on location as we were filming for our annual women’s retreat promotional video. You will notice, I look a little different, and that this weeks lesson is a lot shorter than normal. One it was freezing cold at our location as our area was experiencing extremely low temperatures these past few weeks, wearing a formal dress while beautiful, was definitely not keeping me warm enough for the temperatures.  Secondly, I am wearing my war paint, and carrying a weapon.  Check out the video to see what I am talking about…..   It is essential for us to understand who we are in Christ.  We must understand what our spiritual identity is and what the Word of God says about us. Many women either identify with being a princess or with being a warrior, when in fact, we are both. I must embrace my true identity of being a warrior princess in the Kingdom of GodPowered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Thursday in my blog post, I will be dive deeper into the importance of embracing both our princess identity and our warrior identity.  After all, we are the Bride of Christ, and we are called to be Kingdom Warriors. The Bride of Christ is called to be Kingdom Warriors.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This   Don’t forget to enter the FREE giveaway below by using Rafflecopter … and enter for your chance to win a copy. My One word for 2017 – Dwell

My One word for 2017 – Dwell

this post may contain affiliate links Tweet Every year, I ask God to show me what He has for me in the upcoming year, and what my focus should be.  Usually, I fill page upon page in my journal of the many words, phrases He speaks, things He shows me, or Scriptures He highlights. However, last year was the first year that I had ever heard about taking what I felt God had for me and boiling it all down to just ONE word! How can someone choose just 1 word? Please tell me you understand my dilemma ? On most days, I have many, many words inside just waiting to get out…. Can I get an amen?! As 2017 crept closer and closer, I kept thinking that I wasn’t done with my word for 2016, which was … Advance. I wasn’t sure I was ready to move on.  Had I studied it enough, let it be a part of my year enough, or even fully understood the scope of all God had for me to embrace about it. In fact, I am a firm believer that God operates in seasons and isn’t tied to a calendar year, so I was fully prepared to continue on in 2017 with Advance.  In fact, there are many things that started ‘advancing’ in my life and ministry in 2016 that are carrying over to 2017 and beyond. After waking up sick on Christmas morning with no warning and being down and out well into the New Year, I began to wonder if God wasn’t telling me my word for 2017 was to...

Secrets of the Secret Place Vlog #22 Lessons from the Lake

this post may contain affiliate links Tweet For my devotional time this month and even over the next few months,  I am reading one secret a day from Bob Sorge’s book, “The Secrets of the Secret Place”. Even though I may already have some knowledge and even some  understanding of a particular secret, I am finding that God is giving me knew revelation or expanding my thinking about each one. This week on my video blog, I read an excerpt from day 3: The Secret of Listening from Psalms 95:7 … join me on the Vlog to hear what I learned ….   When we hear God’s voice and obey, He in turn hears our prayers . Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This     In a world where life seems to be on fast forward, it is so important that we take the time to be still, sit and quiet our hearts before the Lord.  I don’t know about you, but hitting the pause button on life as I spend time with the Lord, can sometimes be challenging. I am a doer.  I am often task oriented, with a list a mile long.  However, on January 1, 2017 the Lord challenged me by asking me, “What will your first fruits be Debbie?”  I will share more on Thursday about this particular question, and also my #oneword for 2017. The secret to listening, is to quiet our hearts before the Lord.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This If you don’t have a copy of Bob’s book, I highly recommend it.  In fact,  I LOVE this book so much,...
