Testimony of Thanksgiving & Tune in Thursday #38

Tweet IMPORTANT: NEXT WEEK Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, there will be NO linkup, but plan to join me again the following Thursday, November 30th for my posts: Mommy vs. Santa This week is a continuation of sorts from last week’s post “Enter His courts with Thanksgiving“.  If you missed it, click on the picture below.     As I have been meditating on Psalm 100 the past few weeks, I felt like the Lord challenged my thinking about those areas in my life that seem challenging or difficult. You know, those areas where we don’t immediately think to give thanks.  Or those areas where thankfulness is definitely NOT what would come to mind.  Especially, those “life gives you lemons,” moments. God’s challenge to me was simple:  Do you want to be thankful for these tougher moments in your life?  Are you expecting to have a testimony of thanksgiving one day for these challenges? Immediately the chorus of the song by Casting Crowns: “Praise you I This Storm” came to mind… I thought about it for a moment, and decided YES. Yes, even though I have stuff that is hard to be thankful for, like insomnia, health challenges, loved ones facing difficulties, people being offended, or even being misunderstood…. Yes, I want to be able to look back and have a testimony of God’s faithfulness in any one of these or other difficult areas in my life. Don’t you? Don’t we all? Yes, I believe we all do.  Our testimony of thanksgiving may not be what we want it to be, or think it should be, but God is always...
Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving & Tune in Thursday #37

Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving & Tune in Thursday #37

Tweet Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:1-5 NIV)   The month of November is a time when we traditionally turn our focus and hearts toward being grateful and sharing we what are thankful for. Thanksgiving is a lifestyle we are called to live.  In fact, every time we come to the Lord, we are told to: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.”   Can I be real with you for a minute? Sometimes, thanksgiving and praise is the farthest from our lips and our mind when we want to come before the Lord. Sometimes, we come in worshipping and praising. Sometimes, we come in crying and complaining. Sometimes, we come running to the Lord for comfort, answers, protection, or in dire need. Sometimes, we also come in with thanksgiving and praise, but not all the time. I wonder how things would change, in our circumstances, our heart, and our attitude if every time we approached God’s gates and His court, we did so first with thanksgiving and praise? Many years ago, I joined the staff of a church and worked in the Worship Arts Department.  The staff prayed over me, when I first started and one of the things the senior pastor said has stuck with...
New Mercies Everyday & Tune In Thursday #36

New Mercies Everyday & Tune In Thursday #36

Tweet This week, I am shaking things up a bit and I am going to do a cross over of sorts. You know what a crossover is … right? You know, it’s what happens when two things that are similar merge to meet in one location. You know, like when the Six Million Dollar Man would appear on an episode of the Bionic Woman. Or when Batman meets Superman?  Or when Iron Man meets…Spiderman, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, and … well, I  think you get the picture. So welcome to my crossover episode of #TuneInThursday meets #LessonsFromTheLake Instead of my weekly written blog for Tune In Thursday I am sharing with you my Lessons from the Lake Vlog (video blog) which usually posts on Tuesdays.  I record these videos from my deck with the lake behind me.  I promise, it may look like a still image sometimes, but it’s not and the while the scene is the same the look varies each time.  Enjoy! Lamentations 3:21-24 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:  The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Thank you #God for new mercies everyday!Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This   Great is Your Faithfulness, Oh #God !Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This The Steadfast love of God does indeed endure.  We need to remember and call to mind of the times when God has been faithful and when He has come through for us.  We all have times when we face...
