Never Unfriended: Book Review

Never Unfriended: Book Review

Tweet As I scrolled through the emails my heart skipped a beat. “Oh no,” I thought to myself, “It’s the dreaded MailChimp stats email” …. I hesitated for a minute wondering if I should even dare open it up and look, or if I should just let it pass me by. All the while I had a twinge of pain in my stomach, yet I was just too curious and wondered who unsubscribed this time? Never in a million years was I prepared for the email and name that was associated with it to be on my unsubscribe list. I stared blankly at my phone and felt as if I had just been punched in the gut! Wowza, what in the world had happened? How did this come to be? I thought they were my friend. I guess now I know why I haven’t heard anything from them in a long while. Now it makes more sense when I did reach out there was always a reason for postponement or cancellation, but never in a million years would I have expected this. Has this scenario ever happened to you? Maybe not an unsubscribe from an email list, but maybe instead an unfriend or unfollow from someone on social media who you thought was your friend? Oh how I wish I didn’t know what this scenario was all about, however, truthfully it happened less than a month ago. I was shocked and at a loss for words and had no idea how to respond, I just reacted feeling hurt, rejected, betrayed… about the same time I got unsubscribed to by...

Hope Prevails (Vlog) Lessons from the Lake

Tweet This week on Lessons from the Lake, I am sharing about a powerful book by my friend Dr. Michelle Bengtson called Hope Prevails.  Not only is Dr. Michelle is a  Neuropsychologist, but she is someone who has walked the personal road of depression.  What a powerful Combination. I met Dr. Michelle at a conference about a year ago where we had the opportunity to sit and talk.  She shared with me about Hope Prevails and her own journey through depression.  When she asked me to be on her launch team, I was not only honored, but I was excited to be a part of helping her share her story. I again got to sit, share, listen, and pray with her a few weeks ago, after reading her book.  I can personally attest, not only is Dr. Michelle brilliant, but she is authentic and personal. Her book is powerful and is a much needed tool for everyone to combat the enemy who seeks to rob us of hope. Her book releases in ONE week  on August 16th, 2016, but you can per-order yours today (See links below).   Because of God  we can say #HopePrevails.Powered By the Tweet This PluginTweet This Here are just a few of my favorite quotes an take-aways from her book: “Anxiety is the absence of peace. … Anxiety always stems from a feeling of being out of control. … Many who experience the suffering caused by depression also experience anxiety. In fact, for some, anxiety is what they identify with before recognizing depression for what it is. ”   “Depression destroys our opinion of...
