As the holiday season and year-end celebrations wind down every year, I began to seek God and ask what the New Year will hold for His Church Worldwide. Having a ministry which revolves around the prophetic and hearing the voice of God, I am continually asked: “What is God saying to you? What is in store for the New Year?”
So, each year I ask, “Lord, what is your “word” to Your Church, Your Bride, for this next season?”
2015 was a Year of Breakthrough and Bounty, and He spoke that 2016 is a Year of Taking New Territory!
Below is what I feel the Lord spoke to me in regards to 2016 for the Bride of Christ – His Worldwide Church. In the weeks to come I will expand on the 2016 Word with some teachings.
However, before you get to the Word for the Year, I just have to share (quickly) what this 2016 Word has already done for me personally and my ministry.
I know that many people have been sharing their 1 Word for the year. However, my thoughts, were: “How do you boil this Huge Territory Taking Word down to just ONE word? And did my ONE Word have anything to do with the Large Picture Word for the church? Or did God have something else in mind?” For sure, you can bet there is a blog post come soon on this topic. 😉
But here it is… drum-roll please ……. ADVANCE!
Which seems fitting since it goes with the Word for 2016 the Lord gave me and the word for our Church Congregation is along the same vein.
Right after the Lord spoke that 2016 is to be a year of Taking New Territory, I had several things happen that made rethink my ministry and direction. Honestly, I wanted to throw in the towel and quit – walk away from it all … Yet, the Lord was clear that my Ministry, Dare 2 Hear was to continue and my first act of Advancement and Taking New Territory was to Podcast.
So coming soon to a podcast near you: The Dare 2 Hear Hour! – – or some other cool name that may come about. (Feel free to send me some suggestions) But there it is, me Fearlessly(which I thought was my one word) stepping out and putting it in writing so you all can keep me accountable and encourage me as I Advance Forward in this next Season.
Now, here is what the Lord spoke to me about the next coming season of 2016:
2016 A Year of Taking New Territory
The Lord says that this is the year of Advancement – A year to take New Territory and possess the promises of God. This is the year for the church to Arise and Awaken. To Begin walking in the fullness of His Spirit. God is pouring out His Love like never before. Prodigals will return home in this season. There is a shadow of darkness over the land and it is trying to advance – But, the Sons and Daughters of the King will Advance as well and we will Be Victorious (Is 60). The Lord is with us – He is mighty to save. (Zephaniah 3:17)
This is the time to look toward Heaven (Is 40:26) – not what you see right in front of you, but tune your ear to hear the sounds of Heaven’s Army Marching & Advance with them.
Let your light so shine before men that ALL will know He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Matt 5:16). The days seem dark, and darkness may seem to prevail – But it is not truth. The TRUTH is – God is ever present (Ps 46:1) – His light still shines and when His light shines it drives out the darkness (John 1:5). The Lord says: This is the year of Advancement – The Year of Making Room for the Bounty – A Year of the Miraculous (Is 54).
Last year was a year of breakthrough and bounty – it will continue into this season of taking new territory! They go hand in hand. Taking new territory is not just about physical property, but it is about spiritual and emotional territory!
Gods promise to His children in was everyplace your foot steps is yours (Deuteronomy 11:24 & Joshua 1:3). Be Caleb’s and Joshua’s – Advance – move forward and take the inheritance of the Lord.
This is a year of the miraculous – when all hope seems lost – Believe. Things that have plagued you physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially, will no longer hold you back from moving forward.
This is a year of Love being poured out – no matter what comes – do not fear – but respond in LOVE – Perfect Love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We are the bride of Christ We are clothed with strength and dignity and we laugh without fear of the future! (Proverbs 31:25)
Be a territory taker for the Kingdom of God – As you Advance His Kingdom – Seek Him –be obedient to Him – He will expand your territory. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33)
This Year, May you Dream Big, and be Fearless as you Advance the Kingdom of God!
Blessings,
Debbie K

Isaiah 60:1-5
Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
4 “Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
They all gather together, they come to you;
Your sons shall come from afar,
And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
5 Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy
Isaiah 54 “Sing, O barren one, who did not bear;
break forth into singing and cry aloud,
you who have not been in labor!
For the children of the desolate one will be more
than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
and strengthen your stakes.
3 For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left,
and your offspring will possess the nations
and will people the desolate cities.
4 “Fear not, for you will not be ashamed;
be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.

I love the word Advance! It’s not passive. It requires movement on our part! Thank you for sharing your heart. It is always such an encouragement to me! I feel like leading an army into enemy territory! ADVANCE!!!
Thank you Jodi! Let’s go – charge and take territory together and ADVANCE! And do you have a word for this year? if so what is your word? or 1 word for the year? Blessings to you
Oh my, what a beautiful word and promise from God Almighty.
Thank you so much Debbie – Grab a hold of those promises, they are for you too!!!
When you talked about how you felt, Debbie… about throwing in the towel… I think I understand. I often think about the burden that His ministers and prophets must bear and I know that as difficult as it must be to just stay committed and true each day, to walk the path He has directed you to walk, it must be even harder when you have the added responsibility that you have toward those you teach and come in contact with every day… to always be a representative of Christ, to reflect His character, His love, His mercy. Daily. Every minute. When you’re tired, when you’re sick, when you’ve lost a loved one and are grieving and in need yourself. But praise God you are faithful! Praise God that you listen to the King of us all and continue to lead and reach out to those in need. Praise God that you hear His voice and follow His commands. You encourage me and I know that in you, ‘He is well pleased’. Thank you for sharing the word. I believe what God has said.
Oh Kathy, thank you so much for your understanding and encouraging heart! I feel so blessed by reading what you wrote and I am very grateful you understand exactly the road I walk, not many people do. I so appreciate every word you wrote! It is comments from grace filled loving people like you that keep me moving forward to ADVANCE!
Powerhouse 1 word and many words! God will surely be right with you as you move one step at a time into this new territory. It is already His, making it wonderful to be traveling there.
Caring through Christ, ~ linda
Thank you Linda! You are so right – It is already His and He will be with me every step of the way. Blessings and thanks for stopping by.
Hi Debbie, I feel inspired after your final words to dream big and be fearless. Like many others, I have One Word for the year but I hadn’t heard about a call for the church. Thank you so much for sharing your vision for God’s church to advance. I’m glad we were neighbours on Testimony Tuesday today.
Marva, I am so glad you feel inspired, I feel that is exactly what God has created me to be, an inspiration to others. One of our staff member gave me a great necklace for Christmas, it was a gold key with the word INSPIRE engraved on it. So you just confirmed what she spoke to me when she gave me the gift. I am so glad we got to be neighbors at Testimony Tuesday. Hope to have you visit again.
Advance. What a cool word! And what a great passage of Scripture to go with it. Thanks for joining us at the Literacy Musing Mondays Linkup. #LMMLinkup.
Thank you Leslie and thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Thank you Kelly, I am excited to be doing a podcast soon too. Yep, you will see me again on Sunday!
Wonderful to meet you on Faith Filled Fridays. My word this year is Abound. Last year Intentional. Last year I plunged into radio and each week give a 3-4 minute podcast on Hope Stream Radio.
Blessings to you as you take more territory.
I would love you to link to Word of God Speak Weekend Linkup. Opens tomorrow morning.
Janis
Janis – I will definitely check it out tomorrow morning. Thank you for the invitation. I like the progression of your words from year to year. I will have to check out your podcast as well. Thank you for stopping by and saying HI today.
The verse I felt the Lord give me this morning was “The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly” (Rom. 16:20). My first thought was I don’t want to get that close to Satan. My second was get ready for victory. God is at work. He does the crushing, and if He wants to use my feet, so be it! Your words on advancement fit perfectly with His word to me this morning. Thanks so much.
Debbie – you are so welcome! I am so happy to hear that you received encouragement today from my word on advancement! Yes, get ready for victory – it is God’s promise that you will crush satan under your feet – He has already done so! Amen – thank you for visiting, I hope to see you again soon.
Thanks for this great encouragement, Debbie. Too often I’m glad to be just hold on, so this thought of taking new territory is so uplifting. Blessings to you.
thank you so much Deb! I appreciate you stopping by today.
