Feeling Overwhelmed?
Want to Quit?
Yeah? Me too!
Join me on the front porch as I share on the video blog about the 4 things God has been teaching me. During seasons where things get tough, there are 4 key things we need to alleviate the stress and allow God control to move on our behalf….
The 4 things God has been showing me during this season right now when things seem overwhelming are:
- Remember
- Release
- Refocus
- Recharge
Lately, my recharging has been in decorating my front porch, my table, and my mantle for the fall season! I have decided to post these in separate posts, this week and in the upcoming weeks, so make sure to stop back by to view them. Or follow me on Instagram. Here’s a quick peak at my front porch.
Plan to Join me this Thursday’s blog post as I go into more depth of the importance of these four words.
PS – in August, I had a survey for a new linkup I will be starting in November… If you haven’t had the opportunity to share your thoughts or even if you had filled it out previously – could you take 2 minutes and let me know which day works best for you – the 3 top days (tied actually, were Monday, Wednesday and Thursday). I am trying to determine the best day to have my new linkup on.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Your opinion matters and your voice counts! ???? Click o the picture to go to the survey

Recharging. This is timely for me. I’m so glad I followed you today at Holly’s. Praying God blesses you as you soak Him in!
Oh Julie, so glad this is a timely message for you as well. Thanks for the follow and for stopping by.
Release. I needed this word tonight. It’s a daily movement for me, lifting my hands and releasing the overwhelm to Him. Thanks for sharing these good words! & glad to be your neighbor again over at Meg’s for #TeaAndWord! –Blessings!
OH Bettie, I think release is one of the harder of the 4 R’s. For me sometimes its an hourly or even a minute by minute things. So glad to have you be my neighbor at Meg’s again. I am blessed to have you stop by
Recharge – that is one I need to be better about because it is SO vital for me. As an introvert with extrovert gifts, I can only do for so long before I need to cocoon for a bit to recharge and refuel. Love your 4 R’s and your porch too!! So glad to be your neighbor at #coffeeforyourheart.
Tiffany – I am an introvert/extrovert too. However everyone just see the extrovert so they don’t see me want to hide away and needing to recharge and refuel. Thanks so much for commenting and stopping by. I am so glad that we were neighbors over at Holly’s today!
Yes! Loving your pops of turquoise and orange on the porch! I decorate to recharge too! When I get swept away by the clutter of life it’s hard to remember our purpose sometimes. Definitely writing these four R’s down!! Thank you! So happy to be your neighbor at the #graceathome linkup today Debbie! ♥
Ah Heather – I am so glad I am not the only one that decorates to recharge! LOL my husband and daughter do not understand it at all. hahaha .. I wasn’t sure if the turquoise would be able to work with the orange, but it did, and I was super happy. You are right, the clutter, and busyness of life sometimes distracts us from remembering our purpose, but once, I refocus, it makes things easier. Glad my 4 R’s will be helpful for you, and even happier that you are my neighbor today!
Debbie, great tips. The weekend is my time to recharge. Yeah!
Debbie – I am so glad you have the weekend to recharge – Sometimes, I get Saturday to recharge, depending on what my responsibilities are at church, but Sunday is always filled with ministry and pouring out to others, so it’s a day of work for me. I tried to find another day to recharge if if I can though. Blessings and thanks for stopping by.
I really have to consciously work on this. It’s hard for me to release things that I have stress over. And when I actually think through it I know that I’ve prayed about it, given it to God, I need to let Him take care of it, or listen for what He needs me to do. I let these things run through my mind over and over. It’s nuts. I am getting much better about it, but it robs me of the Now and the joy in these times. Working on it harder! LOL Working hard to let it go? Is that really possible. Ha! I just need to let it go!
I can understand exactly what you are saying… for me the hard part in releasing usually comes into play when it has to do with my kids and I feel I know best, or what the perfect outcome is…. which God doesn’t always see things the way I do – oops.. Ok LOL working harder on letting it go -now thats a great one. hahaha thanks for making me smile and think today. I always love when you pop in for a visit.
I am definitely resting and recharging today since my lovely son shared his cold with me. Ha ha!
Great insights as always. Thanks for sharing with us on #FridayFrivolity
Oh no, of all the things you want shared, this is not one of them… praying for quick healing and recovery and a very restful – – recharging day today. Thanks for visiting today and take care
Thanks for your post. Feeling that claustrophobic feeling of overwhelm is a big one for me. For me learning to relax and recharge has been a challenge. I’m usually going in a dozen different ways…and there are always things that I think I “should” be doing. It’s been a challenge for me to step back and realize that I need to take care of me too…and that in doing that I can better take care of everyone else too. Your post was a nice reminder. 🙂
Laurie, I am right there with you – I always take care of the needs of others and their wants before my own… this relaxing and recharging piece has been a challenge for me.. but then, I realize if I do not take the time to take care of me, and recharge, I have nothing to give to others. I appreciate your taking time to read and comment and share where you are at too. Blessings
