Have you ever noticed that often times when God speaks we pay close attention to it at the time, but as time passes it is important to keep it in front of you and ask the Lord to reveal more. But more than that, it is important to act upon what He has spoken or revealed. We often have a role to play and need to align or in some cases realign ourselves up with what He has spoken.
Write down this vision.
Write it clearly on tablets, so that anyone who reads it may run (Habakkuk 2:2 The Voice).
Just ask Habakkuk was entrusted to write down what was being told to him, we need to do the same. When we seek God for a word for the year, or ask Him to speak to us about decisions we need to make or what’s to come, we need to record and write down what He says. But we need to go beyond just writing things out. We need to keep it in front of us and often times we need to take action based on what is released or revealed to us.
So, for the next several weeks, I am going to break down portions of the Prophetic Word for 2020 I released publicly, corporately, and posted here on the blog on January 2, 2020.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to read it, you can find it by clicking here. Or on the image below.
This is week #3 of “Digging Deeper” into what the Lord placed on my heart for 2020.
If you missed last week’s post you can read it by clicking the image below:
Week #2 post:
Prepare for Expansion
In the movie Field of Dreams, Kevin Costner’s character hears a voice say: “If you build it, he will come.”
- Build what?
- Who will Come?
- How am I supposed to do this?
These are all questions that would come to my mind, how about you?
In the Field of Dreams movie, Kevin’s character is asked to act upon something that sounds crazy and looks ludicrous, some family and friends support him, while others think he’s completely crazy. Yet, he still chooses to prepare and build “it” aka a baseball field so “he” will come.
There are plenty of stories found in the pages of Scripture similar to the theme of the movie Field of Dreams. Places where God asks people to step out in faith, without them knowing the entire picture.
- Noah – build an ark it’s going to rain
- Abram – leave this place and go. I will lead you to a better place, but you I won’t tell you where until you get there.
- Moses’ Mother – put your child in the river inside a basket for his safety.
What did they do to prepare for expansion in their lives? We stepped out in faith and obedience.
According to the Dictionary, Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
Hebrews 11 not only recounts the stories of the giants of our faith, but we are also told several things in regard to faith.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1 NIV).
Later in Hebrews 11:6 Scripture says it is “impossible to please God without Faith!”
As I sought the Lord for His heart for the year 2020, one of things He spoke to me was to begin preparing now, in advance for what He wants to do. He took me to both Isaiah 45 and Isaiah 54.
Here is a portion from the word I released for 2020:
Preparation and Expansion
Prepare for the increase in advance. Use your voice, your words to release the sound within you to declare and proclaim. Preparation begins on your face before the ONE who created you and from whom all blessings flow. As you seek Him, He will show you the great and mighty deeds that are to come. He has grand plans for you and His church in this season to come. Plans for expansion, growth and new territory. He is preparing you and His church to advance and expand the borders of our lives. The shame of your youth will be banished as you lay yourselves bare before the Lord. He will move on your behalf. Enlarge the place of your life (tent). (Is 54:1-4) Do not hold back, prepare, strengthen and fortify yourself in the Lord for He will open doors, breakthrough gates and level the mountains. (Is 45:2) He has called you by name He will strengthen you and sustain you. He will prepare the way for increase and expansion. He will lead you to secret places filled with hidden treasure and revelation. (Is 45:3)
“Sing, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband,”
says the Lord.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
strengthen your stakes.
3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities (Isaiah 54:1-3 NIV).
How do we prepare for expansion in our lives?
We get on our face before God and sit at the feet of Jesus. We ask Him what we should do and then we obey.
We put our faith in action.
4 Steps to Prepare for Expansion
1. Spend Time with God
“Preparation begins on your face before the ONE who created you.”
Part of the preparation process begins by spending time with God.
Yes, we get alone with God. We read His word. We pray. We worship. We give thanks and simply spend time with Him.
Preparation begins on your face before #God Share on X
We seek His face and ask Him what we need to do. For each person it will be different. What He asks me to do may be different from what He asks you to do.
2. Sing
“Sing, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy, … “
We first seek God to get his heart concerning us and the plans He has for us. We need to write out the scriptures He gives us, or the words He whispers to our heart. Then we begin to sing and celebrate in advance.
We sing with joy for what said He will do and what He shows is to come. We don’t wait until it has happened, we do it before it happens. We will have a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness as we stepped out in faith and obedience.
We need to begin to position and prepare ourselves for what is about to be released.

Activate your faith and begin to give God thanks, shout for joy, and declare His goodness. As you do this your worship shifts the atmosphere. Faith rises up and we believe God, take Him at His word, and celebrate His goodness.

3. Obey
“Enlarge the place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
strengthen your stakes.”
It’s not enough to just have faith it will happen. God wants us to be an active participant. He wants us to position ourselves to receive what He has for us. When He speaks, we need to respond and obey. No matter what it may look like or sound like to others. We need to trust Him and follow His lead. Once we do, He will guide us, lead us, and protect us.
It’s not enough to have faith, we must obey and become an active participant. Share on X
As we prepare for expansion in our lives and our hearts, we must be willing to obey when He gives us instructions.

4. Believe
“For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities …”
Be careful to not just stop with the preparation process. Keep on seeking, singing, obeying, and believing what God has spoken. The preparation process involves stages.
- Excitement for what God showing us.
- Bursting at the seams and joyfully sharing and singing about the goodness of God.
- Activating our faith and begin to step out obeying the things He has asked us to do.
- Patiently wait for them to come to pass by maintaining our belief.
It’s in these “waiting” moments that we must continue to believe God and take Him at His word.
Faith is complete trust and belief. Don’t stop believing what God has said, even if it takes longer to come to pass than we anticipate.

Are You Ready To Be An Agent of Encouragement?
God isn’t calling us to merely embrace a lifestyle of prophetic encouragement. He is calling us to live it. It needs to be a part of our daily life. It’s about being naturally supernatural. It’s about learning to hear His voice and responding in obedience. It’s about being an undercover agent of encouragement.
I know as you read some of the stories and testimonies I have shared in this study, as well as in The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement, (and on my blog ad podcast) it can seem a little scary or even outside your comfort zone. But with God there is no such thing as a comfort zone.
God is calling us all to #BeTheGift of encouragement the world needs today. He is looking for people who can hear His voice and are willing to respond. He is looking for those with available hearts ready to love the world around them. Will you join me in changing our world one encouraging word at a time?
The Bible Study hit #2 in hot new releases in two categories for the paperback version!!! You can click here or on the image below to check it out on Amazon!

I would be so blessed if you would check it out and share it with your friends. You can find it here: Be The Gift Someone Needs Today!
Have you had the opportunity to read my new book “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement: Hearing the Words of God for others.” ? This book is about learning to hear the voice of God in our own life so we can respond to those God bumps and little nudges He gives us on a daily basis. God is calling us to be agents of encouragement and to be the gift the worlds needs today.
We live in a time, where those around us are in desperate need of a real encounter with Jesus and in need of encouragement. We are called to encourage one another daily (Hebrews 3:13), and to build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11). My book will teach you how to step out and do just that.
To order your copy today: You can find it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, OR your favorite online retailer, Plus, newly added, you can now get a signed copy from me. Click Here to order yours today!

Have your read other books on hearing from God, but long for hands on practical application? or are you looking for ways to move you forward hearing from God?
If you answered YES to any of those questions, then I have exactly what you need. I now have an online e-course designed to equip you in understanding that God still speaks today, and He longs to speak directly to you, through His word, and others. He longs to encourage you, strengthen you and comfort you. The training on this site, is fully based on Scripture, and taken from my training manual Releasing God’s heart through Hearing His Voice.

Again, I have been know to link to the following Inspirational Parties:
Since my natural tendency is toward negativity, I lean hard on God for this kind of faith–the tent-expanding sort that plans for fruitfulness when it’s still unseen! Thanks for encouragement in that direction!
You are most welcome Michele! And, you can’t go wrong when you lean into Him for what you can’t see. It’s the best place to be!
I have to remind myself to keep returning to praise music. I so need it in this time! Spending time with God through music is nourishing to my soul.
Lisa, I find the volume level on the music keeps increasing in our home as well. It drowns and silences all the other voices and thoughts. Blessings
Insecurity often keeps me from stepping out boldly, but I’m praying about it and working on it.
Lauren, I too have allowed insecurities to hold me back. I am way better at stepping out. It will get easier the more you push past them, this I can tell you for certain. Or at least it has in my own life. Blessings and I am praying for more boldness for you too.
Thank you for being such a blessing to me each week!
Elizabeth, you are welcome! and thank you for being here each week!
So very beautiful. I needed this today. Thanks for sharing this.
Patrick, I am so glad this ministered to you. Thanks for being here and for sharing how it touched you too.
