Today’s Guest is Toni Imsen, who I met a few short month’s ago when I attended the Daddy’s Girl Conference in New Jersey.  Toni was not only my roomie, she was also the first conference speaker to address the room full of women. 7 Reasons Why You Should Attend “Daddy’s Girl

In May 2019, I was a guest speaker at the Daddy’s Girl Women’s Conference in New Jersey, hosted by Lisa Perna of Touched by Prayer, the internet talk show. It was the 3^rd Annual Daddy’s Girl. I had not been unable to attend the first and second annual conferences, although I had known Lisa Perna, and had been a guest on her talk show.

In April of 2017, I was praying in a dream and woke up asking God, “What’s next?”. I had been in a season of focusing on business and family. I had not been speaking or ministering anywhere in a while and still wasn’t ready to return to it. I heard the Father say, “It’s time for New Jersey and the Jersey Shore.” I responded with, “There is only one person I am aware of that lives in New Jersey, Lisa Perna.”

It wasn’t until May of 2019 that I would be able to be a part of Daddy’s Girl due to schedule conflicts, which, happened to be located, WHERE? The Jersey Shore. of course.

My experiences at Daddy’s Girl in New Jersey were multi-faceted with many layers. I think I am still processing it all. As a speaker at the conference, my session was first. It had been a while since I had spoken anywhere. I wasn’t quite sure where my message would go or how I would start until the final hours before the opening session. When we arrived, I spent some time alone in my room and I was surprised by the revelation coming from heaven regarding my session and what the women were needing to receive.

During the worship time before I was to begin, I knew there were several personal prophetic words the Lord wanted to release. Normally I would share those after a message. Not this time! I knew I had to start with them. I think doing that, taking that risk, it set the atmosphere and tone of the whole weekend. This was to be a place of encounter, not just another teaching or preaching weekend. Not that there is anything wrong with those things. This was just going to be different that the usual conference, and so it was.

I had not quite experienced an atmosphere like this one. I believe women are looking for a fresh kind of women’s gathering. This isn’t your mama’s women’s ministry! I will try to explain some what I witnessed and received at Daddy’s Girl in the following points.

My 7 Reasons

1. Contemplation – Everyone needs to get away from the normal flow of life. A time away offers a place to contemplate the present and the future with God. It is a time of discovery into what Jesus has in store for you.
2. Communion – A get-away to Daddy’s Girl offers a time of communion with God and to break bread with others who are like-minded and seeking a deeper relationship with him. An atmosphere like this is vital for every woman.
3. Connection – This is a true community of women whom you may or may not have met in person. There is a family, a spiritual community with whom you will exchange blessings on a level you did not know existed. This community meets the deep need women have to experience sisterhood.
4. Celebration – An element of being celebrated and embraced was an undercurrent of the Daddy’s Girl Women’s Conference. We were created to be celebrated. This conference establishes our royal identity as daughters. Celebration is an attribute of the Kingdom.
5. Commission – A commission declares a recognition of what you are created for. It is a confirmation in the Spirit and by your peers. A commission establishes that you are on a co-mission with Christ. Freedom accompanies release.
6. Calling – An affirmation of calling is important in the lives of women. Daddy’s Girl is a place where the Lord can bring clarity and vision to your calling.
7. Caring – Daddy’s Girl has been a place of caring for those who are looking to be nurtured. Emotional health and soul care have been sorely lacking in the Christian community, particularly in women’s ministry. Daddy’s Girl is breaking ground in what it looks like to be in authentic community.

These 7 C’s are only some of the highlights of the weekend. There is no way to articulate all of the miracles I witnessed or stories I heard. It felt like a living room filled with all your favorite friends. Whether you were in a session with great worship and speakers or whether you were up all night laughing at jokes and telling stories, you felt at home.

Imagine women coming from various states and towns expecting God to move and loving each other. Regardless of ethnicity, spiritual background, maturity level, cultural diversity or political affiliation everyone was welcome and was cared for.  Now, I call that remarkable and potentially world changing!

I am expecting no different from Daddy’s Girl in the Tampa, Florida area. As Daddy’s Girl begins to go mobile, you can expect to see the goodness of God through these women.
