Hi Everyone – I hope you enjoyed my daughter last week on Lessons from the Lake. She shared about Creativity. It was so good, and fun to have her share with you. If you missed it, you can check it out here: Created to Create Vlog #13
Today, I want to challenge us to look at our lives and our situation through God’s lenses not our own. All too often, it is easy to only look through our own lenses and we miss the hand of God moving, or lessons to be learned.
God has been showing me, how He takes us, our situations and circumstances … those things we see as messy and not so beautiful and He makes them new. He makes them beautiful.
No matter the messes we have made, or are happening in our life, there is nothing that God can’t make new.
We need to allow God to breathe upon the not so pretty things in our life. As He does, His pneuma breathe will revive and make new those hard desolate places. It’s the very nature of who God is.
- He redeems the not so great places in our lives.
- He makes all things New!
- He makes all things Beautiful.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:5 ESV)
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way?
I wonder if my life could really change at all?
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found?
Could a garden come up from this ground at all?
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
You make me new, You are making me new
Making me…

I had never heard of that song before. Beautiful reminder that His masterpieces, the children of God, had their origin from dust.
I know in my own life, I have seen God redeem so many things that were painful. Redeem them in such a way where I could not have experienced incredible joy, had I not endured incredible pain.
Thanks for sharing.
Karen, I am so glad I could introduce you to a new song. It has some powerful lyrics and such good reminders for us. I love how God redeems the things in our life in way we do not expect… and pain sometimes goes with the territory.. I mean after all Jesus suffered for us right and he experienced pain? But He does take the good, the bad, and the ugly and as we trust Him, He makes all things new! Blessings
Debbie, your vlog today really encouraged me. We went through a rough week with both vehicles acting up at the same time. Long story but when I watched this I felt a peace, His peace wash over me as you said no matter what we are going through….
Thank you so much, friend!!
Meghan, I am so sorry to hear your week wasn’t the greatest, but oh so glad that the message in today’s Vlog brought you peace. May His peace continue to gently wash over you – wave and peaceful wave! Blessings my friend
Oh yes, I love these words today! I especially needed the reminder that He is breathing His Pneuma Breath into me right now, and making NEW out of the places that are diseased and broken. Thank you for sharing these thoughts, Debbie! Blessed that God keeps letting us be neighbors over at #TeaAndWord! 🙂 –Blessings to you!
I am so glad we are neighbors on Tuesday as well! Also, I am so happy to hear that the words spoke to you, just when you needed to hear them. I love how God is in the business of always making things NEW in us – don’t you? See you next week!
so great to see your beautiful face again, deb – I never like a deep clean -up but oh so necessary. thanks for your encouragement from the lake!
Awe Sue – thank you so much. I am so glad to have you stopping by for a visit. Oh, man, I don’t think there are very many people who like to deep clean, but you are so right, it is so very necessary. I am so glad that you received encouragement from this weeks lesson. Blessings
Sometimes it so hard to see our own beauty, isn’t it? Through the messes and pain and selfishness. Oh My! But when we remember that we are made for a purpose, and joyfully move through the world, you can see the beauty reflected on the faces of others. That’s the coolest!
Nikki – yes, it is sometimes so difficult to see our own beauty – wow, why is that? I like what you said , when we can see the beauty reflected in others, its the best! We must remember we have a purpose and to be joyful in all things… so hard, but such truth and a great reminder. Thank you for your encouragement my friend.
Debbie, your blog and your vlog are so encouraging. This is one of my favorite songs also. Your are spot on… one of the best lessons we can learn is to train ourselves to see through our struggles with God’s eyes instead of our own, and this is how we tap into the hope and faith necessary to rise above them. Sorry for your difficult week:)
Oh Crystal, thank you so much! That means the world to me that what I am sharing, writing and speaking are an encouragement to you!
Also thank you for your comfort, it seems the last few months has been riddled with difficulty and challenges, but, I am doing good in-spite of it all. And, yes, looking at our struggles through God’s eyes is most essential in handling anything – in fact, I just sat to write an actual blog post for next week 10/20 and that is a Huge part of what I am sharing. Thank you so much for your encouragement and stopping by 🙂
