Episode #172: America’s History 1215-1776 Volume 1
with Connor Boyack
Conner Boyack is best known for the bestselling Tuttle Twins book series and is President of Libertas Institute. I am excited to have Conner on the podcast today, not because of the Tuttle Twins, but because he wrote a history book that tells the true story of America in a way kids will understand. None of the history books being used today teach about the ideas that led to America’s founding. They only teach factoids and none of them explain why kids today should care about any of it. They don’t even attempt to make history relatable to our modern times or give examples of why history should matter to kids. If we’re supposed to learn from history and not just about it, then we have to talk about the different ideas, philosophies and influences that led the colonists to pick a fight with the world’s greatest superpower and what followed.
I learned so many things, I was never taught in school as well. This is a book every adult, whether you are a: parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle needs to have one available for the children in their lives. This is a powerful tool to empower the next generation and make our world a better place as both adults and children engage.
