I have been pursuing the dream God placed in my heart as a child. Th dream to be a writer. Not just a writer, but a published author. I wasn’t sure how or if or when it was going to happen, but last year that all changed, when I attended She Speaks. I met an editor, she loved my stuff, and now I have signed a contract with Chosen.
However, it hasn’t been an easy road getting here. In some ways, it is a dream I almost gave up on, but God wouldn’t let me. Recently while my book was in Beta testing, I took some time to read. What was the Book? Watch todays video to see what book stirred me to keep chasing my dreams.
Do you have a dream you have been running away from?
Do you have a dream that you are chasing down?
Do you need inspiration to find a dream worth chasing?
Then I encourage you to check out Mark Batterson’s Books about chasing down your dreams, even when the odds seem against you. The three books I mentioned in the video are listed below for your ease in finding them on amazon.

Love these books by Mark Patterson! I read them both earlier this year. They nudged me to keep pursuing the completion of the book I am writing despite all my uncertainties and doubts. I have looked back at highlighted sentences in Chasing the Lion many times. Great to hear you talk about it.
Oh Pam, I love that you found inspiration and encouragement in Mark’s words to keep moving forward on your writing journey. It should like we have been having some of the same doubts and uncertainties. Thanks for stopping by today and sharing with me your journey as well. 🙂

YAY!!! Oh wow Marilyn – Thank you so much for choosing me as your featured pick for the week, what an honor! Thanks so much.
I need to chase my writing dreams! Why do I procrastinate?
Elizabeth – I think we all procrastinate – it’s the reasons why that change depending on the individual – fear of ?? not know what to do next… I just want to encourage you, with chasing your writing dreams – writers – write… so write as often as you can even if it’s only for 5 minutes at a time – that is a great step in chasing your writing dreams. Blessings and courage as you chase this dream
Congratulations! It’s so great to see a dream come to realization. Thanks for the encouragement to keep pressing on!
Thank you Karen! And you are most welcome for the encouragement. I am a big believer in encouraging others to keep on keeping on and not giving up. Press on and keep dreaming. Thank you for stopping by today.
It’s always an encouragement when I listen to you, Debbie. Thanks for the encouragement to continue pursuing our dreams. I’ve had a dream for several years to publish a book of nature haiku using my photos and poems. I realize I need to pursue it harder if I want to see it come to pass. That and making sure I am following in God’s timing, not mine.
Blessings to you!
Gayl – Thank you so much 🙂 You are such an encouragement to me. And you are most welcome for the encouragement! I love your idea of photo’s and nature haiku poems! I think you should totally pursue it, even if you self publish it 🙂 what a wonderful idea! I will pray for God’s wisdom and timing for you in this project. blessings to you
Congratulations, Debbie! I’m hoping to make a similar journey in traditional publishing soon. I’ve already done self-publishing; talk about a learning curve.I love Batterson’s book! It taught me to focus, determine priorities, and accordingly. Otherwise, it’s like NASA aiming for Pluto with a scatter gun. Thanks for your encouragement today!
Thank you Alice! I am praying that your journey into traditional publishing has been as good and grace-filled as mine has been so far. So glad you felt encouragement from my post. Go for it and chase that Lion!
Debbie, this sounds like a great book. I think this is the same Mark that I read about in another faith book which they quoted from! I am praying for you and appreciate the encouragement to chase the God-given dream within. Love you!!
Meghan – it is a great book and he had another one on the same topic as well, so I can see what someone would quote him. LOL Thank you so much for praying, and keep chasing your dreams! Love you too. 🙂
