Choose This Day …

By Debbie & John Kitterman

A Line has been drawn.

Which side are you on?

Choose this day who you will serve. The church and her believers must choose who to serve: Man or God.  Of course, we know what we should choose. We know what the answer should be, surely our answer will be God.

BUT when we choose to serve God, we must lay down our likes and dislikes, our wants, our wishes, our desires, and submit them before the Lord.  We must listen intently and be courageous enough to heed the sound of His voice. Do not cave to the fear of man, instead stand strong with a healthy fear of the Lord. Seek after Him and submit to Him. Allow Him to examine your heart and let go of any of your own opinions and ask Him to replace them with HIS.

Many people in this season are choosing to hold onto their rights and their self-righteousness or are bowing to the fear of man. Many are more concerned with losing favor with man instead of fearing God and losing the favor of God.

God’s kingdom is about LOVE and unity first and foremost. Love for God, love for your brother/sister, love for your neighbor, and YES love for your enemy!

The enemy knows: divide a house and it cannot stand. Do not point fingers and make accusations without first dealing with your own heart before the Lord. Do NOT turn against your brother/sister in Christ, instead turn to Christ. Do not cast the first stone, instead stand upon the Cornerstone.

Do not be deceived about what you think. Instead ask God what He thinks. Do not assume you know the truth, instead ask God to help you discern the truth. Stop the division. Stop the finger pointing and accusations. Stop the hate! Stop the violence in both words and deeds; instead seek GOD. He is the only one that can heal. Seek God and ask Him to purify your heart and cleanse your lips. Seek God alone. Ask for His Spirit to lead you and guide you. He is the only one who speaks ALL truth and can lead you into ALL truth.

Choose LOVE. Choose UNITY. Choose to STAND with God.

Love does not demand silence or complete agreement. Love requires forgiveness and acceptance. Love requires truth and respect. Love is putting others first. Love is dying to self and choosing to turn to God and trust Him in everything.

We stand together in this pivotal moment, a moment replete with God’s fingerprints, pregnant with opportunity, a moment that will define us individually, as a church, as a nation, and as a generation.

Choose which side you are on. Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Choose this day who you will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Scriptures

If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. (Mark 3:25)

Joshua 24:14-16 “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 1:7-9 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

Isaiah 6:5-7 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

Zephaniah 3:9 For at that time I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure speech, that all of them may call upon the name of the Lord and serve him with one accord

Psalms 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Revelation 3 (read the word I released for 2021 about the church of Laodicia – the church of the people’s rights – human rights and self-righteousness (we must surrender our rights to Christ)
