This week as promised, I took my daughter Brandi out from behind the camera and put her in front of it. I asked her to share about creativity and how we were created to create.
I also wrote a blog post about creativity through Bible journaling last year. Feel free to check it out here: Bible Journal Journey
Do you think of yourself as creative? Yes? No?
Well, if you don’t, then you should, Genesis 1:27 says that we were created in the image of God. Listen to learn more.
This quote by Dan McCollam really makes you think doesn’t it.
Well, It got me thinking anyway, and here are my bried thoughts…
Scripture tells us we are made in the image of God, we have His characteristics and His very nature inside of us. His very Nature – His DNA –is in each one of us.
Since God, our Father, is a Creator, we, too, are born to create.
I hope you enjoyed my daughter sharing with you this week.
Feel free to show her some love in the comments below and tell us how you are creative? I will make sure she gets them.

Debbie – yay – your daughter did awesomely and she seems to be gifted in speaking as you are too. I love the quote and I love pondering on the truth that is, His DNA is woven into our very fabrics. Actually, this is a way we can encourage those who are down about themselves, which I guess you are doing here haha. We can share that they too have God’s DNA in them and we can each serve and be unique in our daily lives. Blessings and prayers, friend!
Meg – I thought she did great too – and yes, I think she is gifted much the same as I am too.. It is such a blessings to give her opportunities that I didn’t have when I was her age, but I am even more blessed that she is saying YES! hahaha … and yes, absolutely, we can each serve and be uniquely ourselves – just who God created us to be, with His DNA inside of us! Blessings back in your direction my friend!
This was so encouraging to me today! In this new season of my life, I have had to let go of a lot of the ways that I was used to being creative. But that doesn’t change God’s Creativity DNA that is woven into me! He just has new ways to find expression nowadays! Thanks for your confirmation of what He’s already been speaking to me–I needed the encouragement, as I move forward looking for those new ways to blossom. –Blessings!
Bettie – I am so encouraged that this was an encouragement to you.. especially as you are entering into a new season with lots of change. I am so glad the things you heard and read today were a confirmation to what you need. God is pretty awesome that way – He knows just what we need, exactly when we need it. Much Blessing to you and you begin to find news was of expression and as you just be YOU!
Yes, yes, YES! To all this! I always try to help women tap into their intrinsic creativity in my workshops and so many are so inhibited, but after a couple of hours around the craft desk it so amazing to see them blossoming!
Liz – I can imagine how it must feel to help others unlock their creativity in a way they never thought possible! YAY! Keep doing what you are doing and inspiring others to unlock their creativity! Thanks for stopping by today
YES! To all this! It always makes me sad when a woman comes to one of my workshops and just insists that she is not creative. We’ve become so inhibited by fear, that we’ve lost that part of us. But by the end of a session is it such an incredible blessing to see her face beaming with pleasure over what she created!
Don’t you just love when the ‘lightbulb” goes off in their minds that “hey, maybe I am creative!” I love that you get to see that every time you hold a workshop and awaken creativity inside women! What a huge blessing.
That was so aweome! Loved meeting your daughter, your voices are very similar.
I love her defition of creativity, we all are, just in our own unique ways. Today I haven’t done anything spectacular, but I think each thing we do we do in a way specific to us, problem solve, schedule, arrange, dress (LOL I wore a creative combo today, I dressed in sweats and forgot my tennies were muddy, so I am wearing socks and flip flops. LOL Creative for someone almost 50! Otherwise I would have had to redress and I didn’t have time.)
Love these lessons each week, and it is a great reminder that we were created by the Creator. Pretty cool!
Yes, so true – we are all creative in our own unique ways! I wish others believed that too and stopped comparing themselves to someone else. I would say, yes, the way you dressed was creative and uniquely you.. I love it – This week in Disneyland, I have definitely seen people being creative with their clothing choices too… it’s been kinda fun to view/watch. I am so glad you enjoyed meeting my daughter too, and that you like the weekly lessons. See you on the link-up tomorrow night with a new one 🙂 Oh PS – I know I posted all over social media, but I LOVE absolutely love my new pillow cases – thank you for using your creative in such a way to bless me and others!!!
Precious! Thanks for sharing!
You are most welcome and thanks for stopping by Lisa 🙂
