Have you ever noticed that often times when God speaks we pay close attention to it at the time, but as time passes it is important to keep it in front of you and ask the Lord to reveal more. But more than that, it is important to act upon what He has spoken or revealed. We often have a role to play and need to align or in some cases realign ourselves up with what He has spoken.
Write down this vision.
Write it clearly on tablets, so that anyone who reads it may run (Habakkuk 2:2 The Voice).
Just ask Habakkuk was entrusted to write down what was being told to him, we need to do the same. When we seek God for a word for the year, or ask Him to speak to us about decisions we need to make or what’s to come, we need to record and write down what He says. But we need to go beyond just writing things out. We need to keep it in front of us and often times we need to take action based on what is released or revealed to us.
So, for the next several weeks, I am going to break down portions of the Prophetic Word for 2020 I released publicly, corporately, and posted here on the blog on January 2, 2020.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to read it, you can find it by clicking here. Or on the image below.
This is week #3 of “Digging Deeper” into what the Lord placed on my heart for 2020.

Declare & Proclaim
This year on the Hebrew calendar is 5780 and is called the year of “Pey” or the year (decade) of the MOUTH.
“Pey” is the Hebrew letter for the number 80, and it is also a picture symbol of a mouth. Discerning when to speak and when to be quiet is critical for believers in this season. We need to understand, our words matter.
The words we speak, and the words spoken to us and over us have lasting impact in our life whether we recognize it or not.
God spoke the world into existence, and by the sound of His voice things were created. Genesis 1:26 tells us that we are made in the image of God. If there is power and authority in God’s voice, and power in His spoken words, we must realize there is power when we speak as well.
Proverbs 18:21 says “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.” So, we should be careful what we speak.
We live in a society where there is a lot of chatter. Not all of it bad, but not all of it good either. We need to learn to discern the difference, but how do we? We discern the difference by reading Scripture, understanding our identity in Christ, and being in relationship with Him. We recognize that there is a power-filled authority at work when spoken words are released into the atmosphere.
We are called to be atmosphere shifters and atmosphere releasers. (Romans 12:1-2) We do not conform to the world around us, instead we speak, declare, and decree the plans, purposes, and promises of Scripture with our voice.
We are called to be atmosphere shifters and atmosphere releasers Share on X
Declare means to, announce, proclaim, to make known publicly. So, when we declare and proclaim the promises of God, we are announcing and publicly making known the promises He has spoken to us found in His Word.
A portion of the word for 2020 I released was this:
Voice and Vision
Clear vision and a strong voice are essential in this season. God is restoring and renewing vision this year. Vision to dream again. Vision to see the unseen, to see past the natural and current reality and into the spiritual which is the truth of Kingdom reality. This is the year of the voice! The time is now to begin boldly proclaiming the things God has been showing you. Sing O Barren One – Let your voice burst forth. Let your voice be heard in the Heavenlies as you call forth and declare the promises God has given you and what he is showing you. Dreams are awaking and Hope is Rising in this season.
The time is now, to begin boldly proclaiming the things God has been showing you. Share on X
Sing, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband,”
says the Lord.
“Enlarge the place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back;
lengthen your cords,
strengthen your stakes.
Isaiah 54:1-2
We use our voice and words to release the sound within us to declare and proclaim what God has already spoken in His Word.
We use our voice and announce the promises of God. Just as in Isaiah 54, the barren woman was told to burst forth in song, she was to shout in advance and rejoice before she even gave birth. She was to prepare for increase by taking steps of faith to show she believed increase was coming.
The Scripture verses found in Isaiah 54 are a picture of faith and trusting God and His Word not what is currently seen. Just as Abraham was told he would become a father of nations, God was asking Him to believe and trust in what he could not yet see. God is the God who speaks to things into being that are not. Abraham by natural standards was too old, so was his wife. BUT God! God had other plans to speak life and not death. He had plans to announce, declare, and proclaim His plans not just for Abraham and Sarah but for the nations that would come from them.
As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. Romans 4:17
God is asking us the same thing today:
Will we trust and believe the promises and truths we read in the Word of God?
Will we speak life to the dead things and call them into being?
Will we declare, announce, and boldly proclaim the things He reveals to us?
What promise of God has He spoken to your heart that you can’t see in the natural yet?
Or what have you read in the Word of God that you are believing and trusting Him for in faith?

Are You Ready To Be An Agent of Encouragement?
God isn’t calling us to merely embrace a lifestyle of prophetic encouragement. He is calling us to live it. It needs to be a part of our daily life. It’s about being naturally supernatural. It’s about learning to hear His voice and responding in obedience. It’s about being an undercover agent of encouragement.
I know as you read some of the stories and testimonies I have shared in this study, as well as in The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement, (and on my blog ad podcast) it can seem a little scary or even outside your comfort zone. But with God there is no such thing as a comfort zone.
God is calling us all to #BeTheGift of encouragement the world needs today. He is looking for people who can hear His voice and are willing to respond. He is looking for those with available hearts ready to love the world around them. Will you join me in changing our world one encouraging word at a time?
The Bible Study hit #2 in hot new releases in two categories for the paperback version!!! You can click here or on the image below to check it out on Amazon!

YouVersion 7-Day Devotional
I am blessed and honored to have a 7-day devotional on the YouVersion Bible App. YAY!!! It is a great way to kick start the 7- days before my on-line Bible Study starts next week. I would be so blessed if you would check it out and share it with your friends. You can find it here: Be The Gift Someone Needs Today!
Have you had the opportunity to read my new book “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement: Hearing the Words of God for others.” ? This book is about learning to hear the voice of God in our own life so we can respond to those God bumps and little nudges He gives us on a daily basis. God is calling us to be agents of encouragement and to be the gift the worlds needs today.
We live in a time, where those around us are in desperate need of a real encounter with Jesus and in need of encouragement. We are called to encourage one another daily (Hebrews 3:13), and to build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11). My book will teach you how to step out and do just that.
To order your copy today: You can find it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, OR your favorite online retailer, Plus, newly added, you can now get a signed copy from me. Click Here to order yours today!
We all have the opportunity to #BeTheGift of encouragement others need today.
Do you wonder if God still speaks today? Do you wonder if He would ever speak to you personally? Do you long to hear the voice of God in your life?
Have your read other books on hearing from God, but long for hands on practical application? or are you looking for ways to move you forward hearing from God?
If you answered YES to any of those questions, then I have exactly what you need. I now have an online e-course designed to equip you in understanding that God still speaks today, and He longs to speak directly to you, through His word, and others. He longs to encourage you, strengthen you and comfort you. The training on this site, is fully based on Scripture, and taken from my training manual Releasing God’s heart through Hearing His Voice.

I’ve never heard of the year of Pey so this is very fascinating, Debbie. Thanks for reminding us to use our voices in positive ways to spread the good news of God’s love.
Lisa, I found it interesting too. It’s been fun researching it a well. You are most welcome for the reminder. Blessings!
I had not heard of the Hebrew calendar. This is so interesting.
Lauren, I hadn’t heard about it before last November either. I find it very interesting too.
Oh, Debbie. Thank you for this message. I am grieving so much over my oldest son who is caught up in addiction and has been traveling the prodigal road for so long. He has suffered so much and has been bound in chains. While he recently returned to the Lord, the enemy continues to sift him but I know the Lord has more for him than this. Your words encourage me to press on in prayer. Thank you, friend.
Tammy, you are most welcome. I am so glad this message spoke to your heart and are an encouragement to you to keep pressing on in prayer declaring the promises of God over his life. I am so delighted to hear he has returned to the Lord!! That is a hallelujah moment for sure. Blessings to you my friend.
Thank you for this much needed reminder!
Elizabeth, you are most welcome!
