Episode #139: Heavenly Music: Christmas Edition ~ Katie Hester

Katie Hester is a visionary sound receiver and engages in creative inspiration regarding music. She is a veteran music teacher, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer and Founder of Breakthrough Music Today. Her musical passion and skills are multifaceted, involving both herself and the equipping of others to create and display the sounds they were created by God to make.   Her beautiful compositions have largely been a walk of her God given faith in a Creator that pursued her, called her, gave her a gift, and even showed her how to share it.

Katie started out as a classical flutist and music teacher that didn’t compose outside of academia, but God had a different plan! She started hearing songs and gradually learned the process of receiving a melody and collaborating with God and with her academic training to create her unique, healing sound.  The real journey was one of learning to receive the songs (and the messages in them) and to value the relational aspect that allows it to be “Katie flavored” music….and most importantly to receive Gods love for her personally.

Though she has composed, co-composed, produced, and released a lot of relaxing, yet engaging instrumental music on flute, piano, violin, etc., she also plays guitar, sings, and has a huge passion for releasing other styles of music to reflect the beautiful creations God has made in various artists.

She focuses on releasing sounds of LOVE, PEACE, and JOY…and raw in the room type of production…..Katie believes there is a much desired place in the digital world for real interaction so she tries to produce with minimal editing and do whatever she can to make it feel like you are right there in the room with the musicians.

Much of the music Katie works with is done in the Healing Frequencies of 444Hz.  In fact, the only ones that aren’t are older recordings, done before she had the knowledge of these amazing sound waves.  She almost always has her instruments tuned to 444 Hz. She has discovered much about the power of sound, knowing that all matter and sounds, thoughts, hold frequencies…having the right ones around you aids your body and soul to be in alignment with the best version of you.  It’s safe to say that Katie has been on and still is on God’s journey learning about these.  One realization she has had is that the book of Genesis in the Bible mentions God crating everything with a word.  She believes it’s possible much of this is with various vibrations, leading her to believe that sound is one of God’s  favorite things and that in the very least it is incredibly powerful and able to shift atmospheres and even aid body and soul healing, aligning them with the One who loves them most!
Katie enjoys the rest of life with her amazing husband and son.  They love the outdoors, sports, food, nature, playing music, laughter, and getting to know people.  It is hard to find them out together without them speaking to somebody, usually just trying to give a little life and encouragement to people – and often with a laugh…Katie and her husband James believe life is too short not to laugh and point to the beauty and love of our Creator.
