Episode #195 Pray. Trust. Ride
with Lisa Boucher
Lisa Boucher is a RN, cowgirl and author. She is also 33 years sober and has much life experience on how to lean on God through the difficult spaces in our lives. In Pray. Trust. Ride. Lisa encourages relaxers in the throes of some of life’s toughest trials to stay in the saddle and ride through life with a looser rein and trusting God.
King Jehoshaphat understood that when he was boxed in by his enemy. At his most vulnerable moment, he leaned on God and let go of the outcome. Using this approach as her guiding principle, Lisa shares in this helpful guide how to lean on spiritual principles, surrender control, live with less anxiety and ‘ride more freely’.

Meet This Week’s Guest: LISA BOUCHER
Author and speaker Lisa Boucher has devoted the last several decades helping women to recovery from alcoholism, and as life changes so has her mission. The one common denominator she’s noticed when interacting with others out in the world is that people in general struggle to trust Jesus and let go of the things in their lives that they can’t control. It’s with that thought in mind that the Lord led her to find the prayer of King Jehoshaphat that prompted her to write, Pray. Trust. Ride: Lessons on Surrender from a Cowgirl and a King, in hopes it would help others to lean on God and let go of those things in our lives that strangle our hearts and keep us up at night.
Lisa Boucher is also the author of Raising the Bottom: Making Mindful Choices in a Drinking Culture, an award winning book that won the 2017 Best Book Awards in the category of women’s health and placed as a finalist in the category of addiction/recovery. She is also a speaker.
After short stints where she trained polo horses, worked as a flight attendant, hairdresser, and bartender, she realized that the time to implement serious change had arrived. She gave up drinking, revamped her life and settled in as a registered nurse where living a life in recovery became her way.
For the past twenty-eight years, Lisa has worked with hundreds of women to overcome alcoholism, live better lives and become better parents. She was prompted to write Raising the Bottom when after twenty-four years of working in hospitals, she realized that doctors and traditional health care offer few solutions to women with addiction issues. She is dedicated to not only help women recover from alcoholism, but has extended her reach to educate and help corporations deal with the growing addiction problem that has permeated every sphere of American life. An author of five books, she holds a BA in English, and is the mother of twin sons. She currently resides in Ohio with her husband.
