Can you believe that I have been podcasting for almost 6 years? That’s right, in a few short weeks, I will have been podcasting for 6 years. WOW, time sure does fly.

2025 Word for the Year: Choose the Better Thing!
I am excited to finally share with you the Word God gave me to share for 2025! It has a lot of varying nuances and is a slightly different presentation than some of my other words, but that is good. God is always stretching and growing us as we press in to hear Him speak. This next season is a pivotal foundation setting year. It is a year of sowing, a year of covenant, a year of prioritizing thankfulness, and an invitation to choose the “better thing.” And as you press in to implement these things, it will be a year of divine revelation, battles and victories.

2025 Word for the Year
Choose the Better Thing!

On November 17, 2024, during worship, I heard the Lord say:
We’re Entering into a season of covenant promises coming to fruition in and over your life. Just as God gave the sign and symbol of the rainbow 🌈 as a sign of His covenant promise, so too He is saying to you now that as you enter into a covenant with Him, He has already promised to be faithful and true to you. The promises of God and prayers you have been praying and believing Him for shall be forthcoming in this next season.
Then on December 29, 2024, as I continued to seek God for a word for 2025, I heard the following statements.
This is a year to choose the “better thing.”
2025 is a pivotal year and will set the tone for our relationship with the Lord for years to come.
This is to be a year of sowing.
A few days later, the Lord began talking to me about entering His courts with Thanksgiving and Praise. He impressed upon me not to have an “attitude of gratitude” only one month out of the year (November) but to make a conscious effort to make Thanksgiving a priority this year, even in the midst of battles and difficulties.
I also woke up one morning shortly after, and I was singing in my dream and spirit the following chorus from a hymn I sang as a kid.
Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul.
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole.
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me Thy great Salvation so rich and free.
But then, while I slept, I was adding my own verses.
Thank you, Lord, for setting me free.
Thank you, Lord, for healing me. And on it went.
As I prayed into these words, encounters, and experiences, I heard the Lord say that 2025 is a year to prioritize Thankfulness. It’s a year to watch what we speak (sow) out of our mouths and what settles in our hearts. It’s a year we must learn the practice of being thankful in the small and Big things. Having an “attitude of gratitude” is the beginning of living a lifestyle of thankfulness. We enter His courts with thanksgiving and praise. So, thanksgiving must proceed with our entering into His presence and going deeper. This year will not be without battles but know that this is also a year of advancement and fruitfulness.
2025 is a tone-setting year. A foundational year that will set the tone for the years to come. It is pivotal that we set ourselves up for success – not worldly success but Kingdom success. Our foundation must be firm and strong so that when trials and tribulations come, we can stand firm on our foundation built upon Jesus Christ. This year is to be a year of choosing the “better thing.” A Year of Sowing and a Year of Thanksgiving!
I then researched the Hebrew number 5 and prayed more about what specifically the Lord would speak to me/us about in 2025.
The number 5 is the Hebrew word Hey, which means Breathe of God, Divine Revelation, His Light, Behold, and Grace. The Scripture that goes with Hey is Psalms 119: 33-40.
Then The Lord spoke:
You have crossed over and entered a season of divine revelation, and you will behold My grace in 2025(5785). This year will be filled with many things. This year won’t be without battles, but know there is victory and advancement on the other side. I, the Lord, invite you to choose the “Better Thing “ this season. Come and be with Me, come and sit at My feet, and allow Me to breathe upon you and your heart (Luke 10:38-42). Allow me to revive the dead and desolate things (Ezekiel 37; Is 61:4; Eze 36:35-37). Allow me to walk with you through it all. Accept and receive the grace I am releasing to you even now. It’s in this place where My revelation will freely flow. (1 Cor 2:6-16)
This is a season for you to establish a solid, firm foundation and shore up any areas that are not. You must learn to stand firm no matter what comes your way (Mt 7:24-27; Eph 6:13-14; 1 Cor 15:58; 1 Peter 5:9). You must trust Me (Ps 20:7). I want to show you many new and wonderful things this year (Jer 3:33). What you choose to do and say will set the tone for our relationship for years. Take time to sow into Me. Take time to Sow (speak) My Word over your life and the lives of others. Take time to sow into this year with your words, deeds, and actions. (Matt 13; 2 Cor 9:6; Galatians 6:7-9) You must learn to be thankful, no matter the situation or circumstances. Thanksgiving leads to praise, which is Key to entering into ALL I, the Lord, have in store (Ps 100:4).
I AM, the God of covenant (Exodus 34:10: Duet 7:9). I do not change. I do not lie. I do not break My promises (Ps 145:13-14). As you choose to covenant with Me, I will sustain you (Is 46:4).
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
I will pour out revelation and revive you with My righteousness. Do not fear, rather, TRUST ME and FOLLOW MY WAYS and Precepts.
