Are you ever struck by the lyrics of the songs you sing during worship? I am, especially when the Holy Spirit orchestrates the service and it fits so well with the sermon.
God will often whisper to my heart during times and worship, and release His truth into me.
Join me on Lessons from the Lake today and watch the video below, to see what God whispered to my heart recently, and don’t miss the blessing I speak over you at the end.
God is faithful to the very end to complete the promises He has for you and I. It may not be in our timing, but in His.
We must remember, we are safe within His promise of calling and destiny. The truth isn’t what we do from 8-5 the truth is what we do with the plans and calling and destiny God has for us.
Do you know what they are?
Psalm 37:4-5 NIV says:
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
Look to God for His plans and His Destiny for your life. His word tells us that as we look to God, as we focus on Him, His desires become our desires. His plan and His will becomes our hearts desires.
Enjoy Bethel’s version of the song I was talking about in the video blog today.

Take delight – I never saw it that way in that Psalm. It’s something I can do while I wait on God’s perfect timing and ways. Thanks, Deb! how are the fires in WA?
Hey Sue – the fires are much better here in WA with the rain we had this past Saturday. They are still fighting some of them, but the air quality is greatly improved, thanks for asking. And yes, taking delight is something we can all do while we wait on God’s timing. 🙂
Beautiful! I love, love, love this song and loved your vlog as well! (And I see Sue asked about the fires in WA and I am sure at one point, I knew that we were both residing in WA State –but I can answer for me right in the center of the State -it is SMOKY and the air quality is hazardous, so we are missing these last days of summer, stuck indoors!
Oh thank you Karrilee! I think I remember we may have realized we both lived in WA state. Thanks for speaking for the rest of the state as well…Yes, I have heard it’s bad in places around the state still. We had a very smokey filled weekend around here again as well. I am praying that the rain that has blown in over the weekend is helping to put out the fires and clear the air for the entire state. So sorry you had to spend the last days of summer stuck indoors. 🙁
So beautiful. I love the reminder that I am a treasure of God. Thanks for blessing me this week and joining us at the #LMMLinkup.
Oh thank you so much Mary! You are definitely God’s treasure!
I am glad I clicked onto your blog from Susan’s link up today! Good Word!
Elizabeth -I am so glad you did too. It’ nice to have you stop in for a visit. Hope to see you again soon 🙂
Fall is coming! Fall always signals change, doesn’t it?
Sometimes I wonder why we make things so complicated. God’s really not trying to trick us. Maybe if we’d totally embrace that He wants us to live with Him for eternity, AND gave us His how-to manual, lfe would get much simpler. Thanks for an encouraging word today,Debbie!
You know Alice, that is a good point – why do we humans always have to complicate things ? I do it too. You are most welcome for the encouragement and Thanks for stopping by
