Hi and welcome to something new here on my blog.
Nope it’s not a spiritual message, nor is it a teaching, but I think to some it may be inspirational.
This week, I shared on the Vlog and will go more in depth tomorrow on the Blog about 4 R’s we can implement when we are feeling overwhelmed.
Saying that I have been overwhelmed is a bit of an understatement, but hey, its the best word I can think of to use. One of the 4 R words is Recharge.
Recharging looks different to each of us, and usually, for me its watching movies, or being creative in some way.
Being creative may look different each time for me. For example, I may Bible Journal, color in my adult coloring book, paint furniture, or decorate different areas of my house for the season we are in.
Lately, I have been having fun decorating for the fall season. I am always on the hunt whenever I can be at the local thrift stores, discount stores, antique shops, and of course Amazon (especailly with my Prime Membership -LOL).
I am always on the lookout for unique pieces that speak to me. When on vacation, I always try to bring a souvenir home that reminds is uniquely me and will remind me of that trip. More on that later when I share my mantle and table decor in the coming weeks.
I have decided to share some of the seasonal decor around the house, since many people have been commenting and asking me questions about it from my Instagram pictures. We have only been living in our lake house for a little over 2 years, and I have never had a front porch or places to decorate around my home besides my table, so I have been having a blast being creative.
Here is what the Kitterman Front Porch Fall 2016 decor looks like.
I just love fall and all the bright bold array of colors. Many of the pieces on my front porch are “staples” and get used for every season like the bench, the tree branch ladder, and the white lantern.
The bench was a gift from my husband (he’s awesome) last fall when he took his mom and aunt to a local market and I was at home preparing for a speaking engagement.
This is a close up view of the right side of my porch as you come to the door. I use battery operate candles with timers in as many places as possible so I don’t have to remember to turn them on each day.
A view of the porch from the left side.
The leaf garland was actually my husbands request for this years added touch. Instead of buying lighted garland, I decided to add my own lights and save some money becasue I could reuse the lights
when I decorate something else. These particular lights are burlap lighted ribbon. (link below)
Close up view of the bench and items on the left side of the porch.
This little bird cage is actually a lamp post that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby a few years ago right after Christmas. Inside is a feathered pheasant.
Lanterns are one of my favorite things and I use them in decor everywhere around my home when possible, inside and outside.
Here’s another view of yet another section of the left side of my porch decor.
I have also included some amazon links for you, just in case you want to find items to match mine, or even some that are similar. I am always on the hunt year round for little additions that I can add to my porch for the following year.

Thanks for sharing your front porch – I enjoyed my visit! What a sweet idea for a different kind of inspiration. I’m liking your wire lamp post-turned-bird-feeder. Appreciate the lovely photos and ideas!I’m your neighbor at Lyli’s #ThoughtProvokingThursdays.
Sandra – I thought I would share a different kind of post about the things that inspire me… it was kinda fun. I got that wire lamp post at Hobby Lobby, and it has been a multipurpose piece ever since. At Christmas time it becomes a lamp post and in the spring, a bird nest… I have plans to put owls and a nest in there sometime too… maybe Christmas time ? hmmm tough decisions to means So glad to have you as my neighbor today. thanks for stopping by.
Your porch is beautiful with pops of color, textures, and that wonderful lamp.
