This weeks guest post is from my friend and fellow writer Meghan Weyerbacher.  We have been “online friends” for  years, but this past June, we finally met face to face!  I loved getting to travel to see Meghan, meet her family and speak at her church.  I have always loved Meghans sense of humor and fun writing style.  I have been honored to support her as a launch team member when she published her first two small town romance novels, and now again with her third one just having been released a short time ago.  I am so proud of Meghan for stepping out and being obedient to write and get her stories and their messages out there.  I am honored to call her friend and have her being a guest on the blog.  When I asked her to write a guest post back in August, life happened and she had to delay. Then as she was writing, she messaged and asked if it could be a series.

I have been honored to share my space with Meghan these last three weeks.  I pray you have gotten to know her and fallen in love with her the way I do.  If you would like to purchase any of her books, you can find them all on Amazon!  Click on the links below.

The Gift of Prophetic Story: A 3-Part Series

God Doesn’t Edit Out All the Crazy Parts

By: Meghan Weyerbacher

“You don’t need every eye on you. Just the right one.”

– Koki Oyuke, author of Chosen not Cheated

As we talked about in the previous part of this series, God is the ultimate Author of our stories. Though we clutch the pen, he is the ink-giver. He is our source. Without him, we run dry.

We can have all the opportunities in the world, all the perfectly curated meals, planners and paragraphs, but without true love in our lives, we have nothing.

I’ve been here in this very place, post-dream-prayer, holding tight to shiny things but feeling a void; putting stock into false perfections that only keep us confined anyway. I thought I messed up my story. Like, beyond repair.

Have you ever felt like you messed up your story or like you’re one bad choice away from ruining his plan for your life?

Do you ever feel like if you just don’t get it right this next time, he might even disown you?

If you’ve ever let your mind go there—you are not alone. Oftentimes we get so focused on our mistakes that we forget of his great love for us.

Don’t ever think you can remind yourself enough that you are his child and that he loves you. We have to know the basics before we can fly. In my own experience I flew from the nest too soon, before I fully knew this truth. I tried to navigate life apart from God and the wisdom and love he offers.

One time a few years ago, I heard something that made me think. It helped me get past the unhealthy fear of failing. Of being disowned, should I mess up one too many times (you can insert whatever you want here: mistakes, sin, ignorance…).

I can’t remember where I heard this web-effect thinking. I think it was from a former pastor who has since passed on. The words caused my jaw to hit the floor.

“God is at the end of each possible outcome there could ever be, for our lives.”

This might not be directly in the Bible; a scripture to find, but I realize it speaks of God’s sovereignty. Of his Alpha and Omega ways. Of his ability to craft us from dust and ribs and exist outside of time to where we will one day live with him, forever and ever, apart from death and decay.

#God is at the end of each possible outcome there could ever be, for our lives. Share on X

As a former struggler with fear of failing, this thought is like a warm hug from my maker. Another pastor once said we worry too much about making the perfect decisions when we really need to remember he goes with us.

“The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

In the past, some more recent than others, my eventual decisions seemed to shuffle to a good side or a bad side. I’d be white knuckling the wheel with every turn as if one wrong move would send me or my family over a proverbial cliff.

I know I have a flagrant imagination but still. Do you get me? Have you been here too?

There’s a balance (someone tell me where it is if you’ve found it) to planning with wisdom, and trusting God, because we can’t see around the bend.

I’ve spent many a day squinting hard, calculating which job or path would be the “rightest” for my life, but I need Someone outside my human thinking to help me; to lead the way.

Life is tough. Sometimes we can’t tell if what we are doing in the now, is making a difference or not. Sometimes we feel alone in our stories, no matter how many Instagram ones we see, because we’re hungry to connect beyond a screen.

Sometimes we just need a trusted friend to bounce these concerns off, so we can feel sane again.

The enemy likes to play with our minds when we are alone with our thoughts for too long. I’ve seen him try to take charge of my own story this way before. Guess what? He has no rights there.

Nothing is too big or small for #God to handle. Share on X

Dear friend, if you’re here too, don’t think you have to hold it all in and pretend. Go to God in prayer and ask for help. He will send you to someone, or someone your way. I’ve seen it in my own life. There’s too much proof to say otherwise.

Nothing is too big or small for God to handle.

But, Meghan. You don’t get it. My situation is extreme.

Hey, I do get it. And more than anything, God gets it.

Maybe you’re boss-mommin’ it and aren’t seeing the fruits of your labor yet.

Maybe you’re sitting crisscross applesauce in your church nursery every week, wanting to be there with a right heart, but gritting your teeth when no one is looking.

Maybe you’re fatigued and ready to throw in the towel (of whatever goal you’ve been trying to meet).

Maybe you just need to pause what you’re doing and take a time out from all the bandwagons, so you get back to being a child of God.

Maybe you have an old dream or a new one and you are scared to make a move. Maybe you tried to make a move but slipped and fell and now you’re worried you heard wrong.

If any of these are true for you, I have Good News; Someone has already rescued our wreckage.

From the course edges of staggered and frayed pages where visions feel ripped to shreds, we begin to see we’re not the moral of our own story, but the recipients of a perfect, unfailing love only partially unpacked this side of heaven.

Whether you’re a blogger, a writer, a speaker, or a human desiring no label and are just trying to make sense of your days, know that…

  • Sometimes the dog eats the homework.
  • Sometimes the website goes down.
  • Sometimes you quit something good and wonder if that was the right decision.
  • Sometimes you say yes to the hard stuff and wonder if you’re just outlandish and ate too many Wheaties for breakfast.

Maybe you’re like me, publishing typos to the point of feeling like one.

Cut yourself some slack. Receive grace today.

God goes with us. Nothing can separate us from his love and no typo will get us rejected from His arms wide open (see Romans 8:31-39).

Have you had the opportunity to read my new book  “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement: Hearing the Words of God for others.” ?  This book is about learning to hear the voice of God in our own life so we can respond to those God bumps and little nudges He gives us on a daily basis.    God is calling us to be agents of encouragement and to be the gift the worlds needs today.

We live in a time, where those around us are in desperate need of a real encounter with Jesus and in need of encouragement. We are called to encourage one another daily (Hebrews 3:13), and to build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).  My book will teach you how to step out and do just that.

To order your copy today: You can find it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, OR your favorite online retailer, Plus, newly added, you can now get a signed copy from me.  Click Here to order yours today!

We all have the opportunity to #BeTheGift of encouragement others need today.

Have your read other books on hearing from God, but long for hands on practical application? or are you looking for ways to  move you forward  hearing from God?

If you answered YES to any of those questions, then I have exactly what you need.  I now have an online e-course designed to equip you in understanding that God still speaks today, and He longs to speak directly to you, through His word, and others.  He longs to encourage you, strengthen you and comfort you.  The training on this site, is fully based on Scripture, and taken from my training manual Releasing God’s heart through Hearing His Voice.

God is speaking, Can you Hear Him?
