Wow time sure does fly when you are busy! I know the saying is, “time flies when you are having fun,” but I usually get those idioms wrong, just ask my family. They have had many good laughs and lots of eye rolls because of the messed up phrases that come out of my mouth.
It has only been a few weeks since I shared that my #OneWord2016 is Advance. In these past few weeks the Lord has been doing some exciting things with my life and my ministry in regards to Advancing. However, one of the things He has also impressed on my heart is being a good steward of the things He has already given me. (hey, I am good with that, and it’s very scriptural).
Specifically, He has been speaking to my heart about being a good steward in regards to my latest book, Milk, Eggs, Prophecy.
What?!
I can hear some of you saying – “you wrote a book? When did this happen? And why in the world would you write a book about prophecy?”
Some of you may be asking the question “what in the world is prophecy?”
Or maybe you are like the young boy who attends our church and wanted to know, “How do you milk eggs and what does that have to do with prophecy?”
Let me interrupt this broadcast to let you know: DO NOT miss the important announcement at the very end of this post!!!! I promise, you don’t want to miss it.
Here’s the thing. I have never liked self-promotion, and I am not some fruitcake out in left field. I am a normal, ordinary, individual who has obediently partnered with an Extraordinary God to accomplish writing a book, my second actually if you count my training manual.
Another thing, this book was released right before the holidays, a time, when things are crazy busy for just about everyone, and even more insane for us at our church because of the outreach and other events we do for people in our community. At the time, I wasn’t sure if I should do have a launch team, or who I would even ask to participate. Partly because of my fears and insecurities (yes, I have them) and partly because, I just didn’t know what to do. Well, I still am not sure exactly what to do, and I still have insecurities and fear surrounding this labor of love and obedience. However, I am moving forward, Advancing and stepping out.

This book will help to deepen your understanding about relationship with God and with others. This book enables you to live your life the way Jesus did every day, by being an encouragement, strength, or comfort to others, which is the spiritual gift of prophecy in action. Just like we have staples we use in our life every day (milk, eggs, bread, etc.) we too need to have Jesus and His voice in our lives every day in every way!
Tweet ThisI know that many people see the word Prophecy and think – oh no, she’s one of those fruit loops, or may be wondering what prophecy is? Basically, in this book, when I talk about prophecy, I am talking about Hearing from God. Several main stream Christian authors have books about hearing the voice of God, I just chose to use the word prophecy in the place of hearing God. After all, that’s what the spiritual gift of prophecy is, it’s hearing from God to encourage others.
So let me explain, I am talking about the Spiritual Gift of Prophecy that the Apostle Paul talks about in Scripture and says is FOR ALL! Yep, it’s for everyone, and we are supposed to eagerly desire it!
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified (1 Corinthians 14:1-5).
This book gives a proper healthy perspective for the prophetic in your life and the life of the modern church.
