Peace it’s such a pleasant sounding word.
It’s what we all want, right? Peace and not war.
To be at peace and rest. To be at peace is the absence of mental stress or anxiety. It is harmonious relations, and freedom from disputes.
Proverbs 14:30 says:
A heart at peace gives life to the body.
Do you feel peace?
Sometimes it is hard to remain at peace within ourselves. Our minds race, we become anxious or fearful about situations in the news, or in our own personal lives and relationships.
Do you ever try to solve situations before they arise? I sure do and when I do, often I can feel myself moving farther and farther from peace and closer and closer towards fear of the unknown or anxiety of not being in control.
Just the thoughts of what will or will not happen next … or not knowing what the next step to take is supposed to be, can cause a person to not be at peace.
This is when we need to learn to be a peace. We need to “Let go and Let God” as the saying goes.” However, the words and idea seems easy enough, but it often takes a concentrated effort on our parts to stay in the mode of peace.
Jesus said in John 14:27 “Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Later in John 16:33 he said: “ I have told you these things so that in Me you may have Peace. In this world you will have trouble But take heart. I have overcome the world!”
Peace is a fruit of the Spirit, therefore, we can not live at peace or have it in our hearts apart from the Spirit of God.
Peace is not just for us, God asks us to be releasers of His peace to the world. We, His people need to have peace in our hearts so that we can give life to the body – – our body and the body of Christ.
Ask the Spirit to give you His Peace today – so that we can live out the wise words of Solomon from Proverbs 14:30: A heart at peace gives life to the body.

So true! Proverbs 14:30: A heart at peace gives life to the body. And conversely the absence of peace makes us feel old and tired. Trusting in Him is really the only answer to every situation that comes our way!
(I’m a big lover of going to the lake, so I had to come by and hear “Lessons from the Lake.”)
Jerralea – oh yes, it does doesn’t it – I definitely don’t like feeling old and tired. I am so glad you stopped by and left a comment.
Wow, Debbie, even though I’ve visited your site before, this is the first time I listened to your vlog. “My heart is at peace” — I love that. I want to say those same words when the future doesn’t seem clear or I don’t know which way God is leading me. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement.
I hope you enjoy a beautiful long weekend!
Oh, thank you so much Marva – I a so glad you enjoyed the VLog – its a fairly new addition. I had a beautiful, restful and peaceful long weekend. I hope yours was the same
Love the verse John 14:27. The peace I have, I know can only come from God. And, yes, we do need to be instruments of his peace to the world. Thank you so much for this encouragement today, Debbie! Blessings to you! I’m visiting from #LetUsGrow.
A peace that passes all understanding – can only come from God – Amen! I am grateful you got to be my neighbor.
I so needed this today. I have been anxious, but I need to have my heart be at peace. The story is already written and I have to have peace with it. Praying for that for both of us, thanks so much for always sending a message that I need, one that resonates with my heart. It is well!
Oh Nikki – I am so sorry to hear that you have been anxious – I am so glad my words could bring encouragement to you today. Yes, the story is written and peace and trust is what we have as we walk it out. I always appreciate you stopping by and chatting with me.
Just exactly what I needed this morning!
