Have you ever noticed that often times when God speaks we pay close attention to it at the time, but as time passes it is important to keep it in front of you and ask the Lord to reveal more. But more than that, it is important to act upon what He has spoken or revealed. We often have a role to play and need to align or in some cases realign ourselves up with what He has spoken.

Write down this vision.
Write it clearly on tablets, so that anyone who reads it may run (Habakkuk 2:2 The Voice).

Just ask Habakkuk was entrusted to write down what was being told to him, we need to do the same. When we seek God for a word for the year, or ask Him to speak to us about decisions we need to make or what’s to come, we need to record and write down what He says. But we need to go beyond just writing things out. We need to keep it in front of us and often times we need to take action based on what is released or revealed to us.

So, for the next several weeks, I am going to break down portions of the Prophetic Word for 2020 I released publicly, corporately, and posted here on the blog on January 2, 2020.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to read it, you can find it by clicking here. Or on the image below.

This is week #5 of “Digging Deeper” into what the Lord placed on my heart for 2020.

Restore & Renew Your Vision

When electricity was first being introduced in a little Scottish village almost everybody in a particular church switched from propane lanterns to electricity just as soon as it could be hooked up. However, the oldest couple in the congregation couldn’t get their electricity because they were waiting for the poles to go up and the wires to be strung. They continued using the propane lanterns.

The day finally arrived for them to bring electricity to their home. Everyone came for the festive event. The man waited for it get extra dark and then told his wife to go turn on the switch. When she did, the light filled the room and everyone rejoiced.

The man grinned from ear to ear, picked up the propane lamp and said, “It sure makes lighting my lamps easier.” And with that he lit a lamp and his wife turned off the electricity.[1]

What?!?

While this story may give us a good laugh, the truth is, we sometimes are like this couple and do a similar thing. When God illuminates or sheds light on things in our own life, we have the choice to ignore it, or reject it and stay set in our ways. We may like things as they are and don’t see there is a need to change, fix, or do something new. But God is calling us to renew, restore, and fix them.

“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19

A portion of the word for 2020 I released was this:

Voice and Vision

Clear vision and a strong voice are essential in this season. God is restoring and renewing vision this year. Vision to dream again. Vision to see the unseen, to see past the natural and current reality and into the spiritual which is the truth of Kingdom reality.  This is the year of the voice!  The time is now to begin boldly proclaiming the things God has been showing you. Sing O Barren One – Let your voice burst forth. Let your voice be heard in the Heavenlies as you call forth and declare the promises God has given you and what he is showing you.  Dreams are awaking and Hope is Rising in this season.

Isaiah 43 finds the Israelites in captivity once again, but as they cried out, God heard them and was about to deliver them. Before He did however, He didn’t want them dwelling on the way He saved them in the past, or on the bad things that they (Israelites) always tended to focus on anyway. Because if they did, then they would miss what God was about to do. This was a new time, a new desert, a new exodus for His people.

The past miracles were nothing compared to what He wanted to do then and what He wants to do in the future. God was asking the Israelites to re-focus and renew their vision. And …

He’s asking the same thing of us today. The process of refocusing and renewing brings about a restoration process in our lives.  It gives us the ability to dream again and hope for the possibilities of what’s to come. When we are filled with hope, it increases our faith to believe for things we cannot see in the natural.

We also can get stuck in today or even the past by focusing on all that went wrong, or by focusing on how great it was. Reliving our “glory days” and all that went right is as much a trap as focusing on all the negative things. Whether good or bad, don’t miss what God wants to do today and, in the days, to come by dwelling on them.

In December of 2017 as I was pressing in to seek God for a word for 2018, I woke from a dream where I clearly heard the Lord say:

“The enemy is trying to rob My people of their vision in this season and what’s to come in their lives.”  (You can read that word by clicking here)

The enemy doesn’t change his tactics, and he is trying to do the same thing today in 2020. Our spiritual vision is just as essential as our natural vision.

Vision in the dictionary means: the faculty or state of being able to see. The ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.

Vision is all about seeing clearly – seeing far – seeing fully (20/20 vision) – no hindrances.   Not just for ourselves, but for others.

Our vision is tied directly to our faith. The Bible says it is impossible to please God without faith. (Hebrews 11:6 ) And faith is believing in those things we can not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

If we are going to navigate all the future holds, and succeed in our spiritual walk with the Lord, we must understand this important truth:

We cannot live on yesterday’s faith and provision. We can’t even live on the feelings and provision of today. God wants to do a NEW THING!!!!

Can you see it?

Don’t allow the limitations of what you see in the natural to hinder you from receiving what God wants to do today and in the future. Click To Tweet

Don’t allow the limitations of what you see in the natural to hinder you from receiving what God wants to do today and in the future.

Ask God to show you the Kingdom reality and truth and how it differs from what you see in the natural.

God renew, restore and refresh our vision today!

Prayer

Lord I don’t want to miss what You are doing in my life. I don’t want to live in the past or even yesterday.  Holy Spirit breathe fresh on me and give me a new revelation – show me the areas in my life where I have been living on yesterday’s faith and provision.  Refresh and Renew me. Refresh, restore, and renew my vision to see You and what You are doing. Show me Your Kingdom reality and adjust my eyes to see Your truth from this kingdom perspective and not what I see in the natural. Lord, open my eyes to see.  Take me to a new level of faith – I receive the NEW THING you are doing in my life!

Are You Ready To Be An Agent of Encouragement?

God isn’t calling us to merely embrace a lifestyle of prophetic encouragement. He is calling us to live it. It needs to be a part of our daily life. It’s about being naturally supernatural. It’s about learning to hear His voice and responding in obedience. It’s about being an undercover agent of encouragement.

I know as you read some of the stories and testimonies I have shared in this study, as well as in The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement, (and on my blog ad podcast) it can seem a little scary or even outside your comfort zone. But with God there is no such thing as a comfort zone.

God is calling us all to #BeTheGift of encouragement the world needs today. He is looking for people who can hear His voice and are willing to respond. He is looking for those with available hearts ready to love the world around them. Will you join me in changing our world one encouraging word at a time?

The Bible Study hit #2 in hot new releases in two categories for the paperback version!!!  You can click here or on the image below to check it out on Amazon!

*This Bible Study Book is a companion to my other book  “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement: Hearing the Words of God for others.” It is not required reading to do the Bible Study book, but is encouraged to dive deeper into the content and activations.

Have you had the opportunity to read my new book  “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement: Hearing the Words of God for others.” ?  This book is about learning to hear the voice of God in our own life so we can respond to those God bumps and little nudges He gives us on a daily basis.    God is calling us to be agents of encouragement and to be the gift the worlds needs today.

We live in a time, where those around us are in desperate need of a real encounter with Jesus and in need of encouragement. We are called to encourage one another daily (Hebrews 3:13), and to build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).  My book will teach you how to step out and do just that.

To order your copy today: You can find it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, OR your favorite online retailer, Plus, newly added, you can now get a signed copy from me.  Click Here to order yours today!

We all have the opportunity to #BeTheGift of encouragement others need today.

Do you wonder if God still speaks today?  Do you wonder if He would ever speak to you personally?  Do you long to hear the voice of God in your life?

Have your read other books on hearing from God, but long for hands on practical application? or are you looking for ways to  move you forward  hearing from God?

If you answered YES to any of those questions, then I have exactly what you need.  I now have an online e-course designed to equip you in understanding that God still speaks today, and He longs to speak directly to you, through His word, and others.  He longs to encourage you, strengthen you and comfort you.  The training on this site, is fully based on Scripture, and taken from my training manual Releasing God’s heart through Hearing His Voice.

God is speaking, Can you Hear Him?

d2htrainging.com membership site is open, I invite you to check it out today, and develop a deeper relationship with the Lord, as you learn to hear Him speak to your heart.
