It has been an honor to serve on Kelly Balarie’s book launch team. In fact, my digital advanced readers copy of “Battle Ready” came at the same time I was preparing to start my own book launch team. Boy, the enemy is sure out to get us anyway he can, especially in the battlefield of our minds. As my launch team application went live for my book “The Gift of Prophetic Encouragement” there has been a battle. A battle with technology, a battle with my thoughts and a battle with my emotions … it’s been full out battle mode for the last three weeks and we’ve only just begun. At the end of the day, I found myself grabbing Kelly’s book and re-reading specific chapters to remind myself that I am battle ready. Kelly and I did a facebook live last week talking about her book and my favorite chapter: Warrior Mindset #9 Eternity. Click here to watch the video.
The truth is, the enemy can try to take us down, but if we are prepared for the battle with our warrior mindsets we can withstand his assaults. Battle Ready women are “Do or Die Biker Chicks” for Jesus that can’t be stopped. When Jesus is on our side, we win. His love wins the battle for us.
To find out more about what the Gift of Prophetic Encouragement is all about, I Invite you to check out my post from Tuesday click here. Don’t let the word “prophetic” chase you away. Read my post “Let’s Demystify the Gift of Prophetic Encouragement” Here’s a snip-it:
I was excited and nervous as I walked into the room. Considering it was a last-minute opportunity, I had prepared for this moment to the best of my ability, or so I had thought.
I took a deep breath, straightened my suit jacket and said a silent prayer as I walked into the room for my appointment.
This was my opportunity to share my message with an agent. I felt like God had opened this spot for me to meet with him even though, I had just started writing the book. I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I was passionate about sharing the message God had given me. Never in a million years did it occur to me that he, that they, wouldn’t understand what I was talking about. (More on this in a minute, I promise.)
Have you ever been there? Excited and passionate about sharing your message, the message God has given you, only to find people really don’t understand what you are saying?

The Blessing of Being Battle Ready
By: Kelly Balarie
I was in the waiting room for the MRI. All that was going through my mind was thoughts of, This is horrible. I am never going to survive. I am not going to be able to walk. There is no way out of this. I will be scared to death in that loud machine. I hate needles and they’ll put one in me.
All I could see there was me. It was me and my problems. Me and my trauma. Me and all the horrible pain that was ahead of me.
Add this to the fact that I was a new mom. My kid had been up screaming all night long. I had been pacing the hallway with him. I had been the one trying to hug him all day long as he screamed his head off. I think he had acid reflux.
I also had a mole that needed to be taken off my chest. We didn’t know if it was cancerous. The doctor gauged my chest. The scar still remains.
Did anyone ever tell you that we have an enemy that roams around like a sneaky, conniving villain in the night, searching out ways to steal, kill and destroy?
He’s likely to come after you.
But, may I tell you? Battle Ready women, built up in the Lord, strong in their mind – those who renew their thoughts – know something that others don’t.
They know: It doesn’t matter what the enemy does; It matters what Jesus did.
You see, above our problems, our mayhem, our issues, our dents and dings of life, is a victorious King who reigns and rules. He sees everything. He knows our every tear. He sees our every way. He is a help in a time of trouble. He is our refuge and our strength. He is our way and our life.
He is Overcomer. He is Victorious. He is equipping us with all we need to fight the good fight today. We are not crushed, ruined or abandoned, we are raised up with Christ Jesus in the heavenlies.
Jesus brings resurrection life no matter what situation we’re in. Battle Ready women are not driven by their wide-ranging emotions but by heartfelt dedication to God’s truth, His promises and His purposes. This changes everything.
Rather than seeing the issue, they see the Provider. Rather than seeing the MRI, they begin to see the other woman in the room that they can minister to. This happened to me. I lifted my head there and got to know a woman with bone cancer. She was in so much pain. I prayed for her before she went into her MRI. I told her about Jesus.
Battle Ready women do the awesome and amazing work of God. They let not their issues hold them back. They’re all in. They go for it.
Are you Battle Ready? Are you ready to let peace, passion, life and freedom take over?
Come join me.

Debbie, with your new book launching and all you are doing, it’s wonderful that you were willing to help launch Kelly’s book!
Blessings to you in these busy days of summer!
Thanks Michele. It has been challenging to balance it all, but God’s given me the grace to get through. Blessings to you as well.
Love! laurensparks.net
thanks Lauren
Praying for you and your launch team! Be encouraged, my friend.
Thank you so much Sue. You’re prayers are appreciated. 🙂
Debbie, your book launch sounds very stressful. I hope you can take a few quiet minutes for yourself at some point. I am very excited for you, and can’t wait to read about Prophetic Encouragement.
I hope you don’t mind, but I featured the story you told in your post last week in a post I wrote on how small tweaks can lead to big improvements.
https://meditationsinmotion.wordpress.com/2018/07/02/small-tweaks-big-results-gratitude-encouragement-and-love/
Hi Laurie, in some ways, yes it is very stressful, and other ways it has been fun. I am planning a nice rest once the book launches with my husband to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary which happens a few days before the book releases. And , I don’t mind at all. I am so glad to have you share about my post. I am so glad you were moved by what I wrote and that you wanted to share it with your readers as well. Thank you for the honor of a mention in your blog post. 🙂
I love that you were able to use Kelly’s book to help you with your own book launch! I’ll be continuing to pray that all goes well!
Thanks Lisa, it has helped and Kelly has been great too with encouragement and writing an endorsement for me. I appreciate your continued prayers. I need them as I maneuver through the next 6-8weeks.

Sorry. Multitasking. Thank you for hosting! My offerings this week include a Summer Snack Mix, Chicken Jerk Salad, and a Tuna Salad in a Cantaloupe Bowl. Enjoy your week!
HaHa – no worries Marilyn. I understand. I look forward as always to checking out your recipes. Enjoy your week as well.
Such a busy & exciting time for you both!
Definitely battle ready only in His strength though!
Thank you Debbie & Kelly,
Jennifer
Wow, you are a superstar. I can’t believe you are helping Kelly launch her book as well as launch your book. You have a heart of Gold. Congratulation on your book and thank you for sharing Battle Ready here.
Thanks, Maree! It was a tad overwhelming for a little while having so many things going on, but by the grace of God I made it through. I was delighted to help Kelly out, since she endorsed my book. You’re words are very encouraging to me and thank you about my book, I am really excited. One more week to gather launch team members and then the real work begins. Woo Hoo!
I’m so thankful that God even more intent on our victory than satan is on our defeat!
I am thankful too Elizabeth 🙂
Sending positive thoughts that your launch is successful. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you are having a wonderful Sunday.
Thank you Patrick! I appreciate your positive thoughts towards my book launch! Enjoy your Sunday too!
So glad you took your thoughts to the agent even though your book wasn’t written yet. You stayed the course with God’s help and now you’re ready to launch! I’m glad Kelly’s book was so helpful during some of the stressful times. It’s really great to see women writing books to encourage others and instead of trying to compete with each other they help each other. That’s how it should be. Blessings to you and Kelly and praise to God! I’m your neighbor at #TeaAndWord this week.
Oh Gayl, me too! I can’t tell you how defeated I was after that incident and how often I wanted to throw in the towel, but God always sent me people to spur me on. Even Liz Curtis Higgs played a roll in me not quitting when I met her at Allume. It is great to see women coming together to support one another and not compete isn’t it. There is plenty to go around and we need each other 🙂 Thanks for stopping by today
Debbie, how exciting that you will be launching your own book soon. And how wonderful that you have been part of Kelly’s team and learned so much from her. 🙂
This post is so good. As I deal with some uncertainties in life right now, God keeps reminding me that He’s got me. That I can be looking to minister to others, not focusing on myself so much. I can trust God to provide in my situations, and in the opportunities He gives to be a blessing to others.
Excited for you!!
Jeanne – it is exciting and I will confess a tad overwhelming at times too. It has been fun being on Kelly’s launch team and learning a lot from her. I am so glad you enjoyed this post she wrote. She has some amazing tools for us to be battle ready doesn’t she. It is important to remind ourselves that God is in control even when we feel all is spinning out of control. I’ve been there, but God has always come through and proved He has got me and the situation. I pray that you will experience the same things. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
OMG! I love Kellie Balarie! I just read her book, Fear Fighting, last month for my year-long journey to #fearless! It was amazing! I have soooo many highlights and dog-eared pages it is a little crazy! This is definitely going on my to-read list for this year! One of the biggest things that I have learned through this study is the power of our minds to fight the devil. We must get rid of the lies, and to do that we must fill our hearts and minds with God’s truths. Thank you so much for this wonderful post ladies! 🙂
Thanks for linking up @LiveLifeWell!
Blessings,
Amy
Oh Amy! So glad you love Kelly – she has definitely lived the message of both her books which gives her authority. It is so true, we must take our thoughts captive and get rid of the lie the enemy tries to stick on us and speaks over us. So glad to be linking up with you and Jessica at #LiveLifeWell Blessings
I have a copy of Kelly’s book and hope to get started on it soon!
Enjoy the read Donna, it’s power packed from the start. 🙂
