A few weekends ago, the Pacific Northwest was expecting a Huge Storm – and some were comparing it to the Columbus Day Storm back in 1962.
However, it was a storm that didn’t live up to the expectations or predictions….
People were running around prepare, some people were praying, and some were waiting ….
Join me on the Vlog (video blog) today as I share the things the Lord taught me through The Storm that wasn’t ……
Daniel 10:12-14 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”
We need to understand that there is a war being waged in the heavenlies (Spirit realm), and we need to do what Daniel did…. humble ourselves before the Lord so that we can get his heart and understanding for the situations we face.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Sometimes it is hard for us when we are in the midst of the storm, or know one is on the way. We worry about what might happen. We wait with fearful thoughts, or we may even feel despair and wonder if God as heard our prayers at all.
God’s word tells us that He hears, He knows, and He is moving on our behalf.. even though it may not seem like it in the natural.
Instead, we must look to God and follow Daniels lead, we humble ourselves and seek to understand God and His ways. God’s ways are not our ways, and His plans are not our plans.
We need to prepare, we need to pray, and we need to wait for God to send us the help and answers we need.

I’ve been reading through Hosea, Deb – and so much agree with your insights about the battle we face. The enemy is working quite hard to lead us astray and keep us from fixing our hearts and minds on God. I know he accomplishes that in my life by using distractions. We truly do need to humble ourselves and lean into God and His truth. So glad to be your neighbor at Meg’s #teaandword linkup.
Tiffany – I am so glad we are neighbors too. Oh, and yes, the distractions … the enemy loves to use the little and small distractions. I think I need to go read Hosea again, thanks for the great reminder of the insights that are in there. I am leaning into God with you. Blessings
Debbie, I tried the video a few times and it wouldn’t play, even directly from YouTube, I will be back as I look forward to these each week.
oh no!!! Thank you for letting me know. I will be checking it out to see what is wrong… stay tuned. I have no idea how to fix the technical things, so praying its an easy fix and a matter of re-up loading it.
