God is real and He speaks today!
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever.”
If God did it hundreds of thousands of years ago, He will do it today, and will continue to do it in the future.
A few weeks ago when I wrote about the movie Everest in my post Climb Every Mountain ,I mentioned that God often speaks to me through movies, and will draw out a spiritual truth for me to dig deeper and research more.
Enjoy today’s video, where I talk more about the ways God speaks and the quickest way to active your ability to hear from Him!
There are so many ways that God speaks to us, His children, let us press into Him and learn more, so that we can be more aware of when He does. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday when I will expand more on this from my Training Manual: Releasing God’s Heart through Hearing His Voice.

Good post!
I listened to this with my teen son. He found it very interesting and liked the way you found a spiritual lesson while watching a movie.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thank you Ruth and I am so glad your teenage son found it interesting too. I appreciate you stopping by today!
I love this Debbie! I was nodding my head in agreement as I was listening to the vlog. I know you couldn’t see me but I was! God speaks to me often especially if I am outside alone enjoying His beauty. I love those times. You mentioned Psalm 139 as an example to read but if I can have life verse(s), mine would be Psalm 139. My absolute favorite. Thank you!!!
Thank you Mary! LOL – I can so see you nodding your head in agreement too. 😉 I can totally see why God speaks to you through nature, you are always out enjoying it and taking beautiful pictures too. I had no idea Psalm 139 was your absolute favorite – that is so awesome! Thank you for stopping in today and sharing your encouragement with me and the way God speaks to you !!!
Debbie – I’m a newbie to vlogs and enjoyed yours. I so agree that God does speak to us, I appreciated your suggestion to read a passage of the Bible and really listen and ask God questions about verses that ‘pop’ out. For me, God’s Word is the #1 way I ‘hear’ God – always refreshing and just right for the moment. Blessings to you!
Sandra – I am so glad you enjoy the vlog – I have only been doing them for about 2 months, but speaking is my favorite form of communication so, it seemed like I should be doing them 🙂 God’s Word definitely always seems to deliver the much needed encouragement just when we need it doesn’t it. 🙂
Our God is always the same, never changing. Thank you for reminding us of this. I didn’t have time to listen to the vlog yet, but I will soon. Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #ThoughtProvokingThursday today.
Gayl – so glad you stop by and commented even though you haven’t had the chance to listen yet – My vlogs are pretty short, so it won’t take to much of your time when you get the chance:)
I believe this as well, Debbie. I also believe God knows us better than anyone else and can speak to us in our “love language” – the way we hear/receive best. I love being outside, creating things and I love words, books etc…so I feel extremely connected to Him when I am outside, crafting or while I read His Word. I think when we are living expectantly we are more aware and it makes for a thriving relationship with Him. I pray more professing Christians in the church today will see that we can not put God in a box. What I mean is, being open to His leading, and whoever or whatever He deems to speak through. And we can always take it back to His word because as you said before, He won’t contradict Himself. I appreciate these vlogs, friend!
Oh yes Meghan – I actually hadn’t thought about it that way — God speaking in our love language, but you are so right – He does!!! OH and I completely agree – God doesn’t like being put in a box – in our human nature we do that so we can contain and understand it.. I think some do it because they are afraid (But there is nothing to fear with God) – I so agree with you – God longs to speak to us all and we always have His word to use as a plumb line for accuracy. Thanks for your encouraging words, stopping by, and sharing your thoughts.
Right on, sister.
Amen! and thanks 🙂
This is the best, this is exactly what I wanted an answer to, and here it is. I will try this the next time I see one of my signs, choose a place in the Bible and see if I can ask myself the questions you shared. Thank you so much for taking me further so that I can “hear” God better!
YAY!!! I am so happy that I could help you out 🙂 I look forward to hearing what God says to you next time you ask Him more questions – it’s gonna be good.
Another great Vlog, and that lake…Ahh! I think you hit right on the concept of meditating on scripture by asking God questions after reading and then listening. Love your messages!
Catching up on my reading — thank you so much for sharing these wise thoughts at #FridayFrivolity!
thanks for stopping by as you were catching up on your reading. 🙂 Enjoy your week
